The Basics

The Grand Mosque is one of the UAE’s most famous attractions. Entrance is free and complimentary guided tours run throughout the day, including an evening sunset tour. The mosque also features on most city sightseeing tours, whether you want to explore on a full-day or half-day excursion, and many city tours also visit other notable points of interest such as the Corniche, Yas Island, Ferrari World, and the Heritage Village. It’s also possible to see the mosque, along with other Abu Dhabi highlights, on an action-packed day trip from Dubai.

This is a MUST DO!
The entire experience with Hussain was amazing. He was so informative. He even pulled over on the way to Abu Dhabi so we could take photos of all the amazing scenery. He made sure we were all dressed appropriately and got the perfect photos while at the mosque. He was very nice and ensured we all had a great time. He sat for tea with us at the Emirate Palace and gave us a brief and interesting history lesson. He even accommodated the 5 year old we had with us! I would 1000% recommend this trip! This is how you should experience Abu Dhabi.

Abu Dhabi Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque with Coffee at Emirates Palace from Dubai
A well organised tour, easy pickup, good local knowledge while travelling to and from. The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is a wonder. On the other end of the scale is the Coffee at Emirates Palace. Overall a day well worth it, in appreciating the country.

Abu Dhabi Sightseeing Tour: Sheikh Zayed Mosque, Heritage Village & Dates Market
Sheikh Zayed Mosque & the date market were my highlights. We were also treated to an exhibition of pre (like alexander the great) and Islamic coins on entrance to the Mosque. The heritage village gave a nice insight into life before oil was found (in 1958 if I remember correctly). The museum at the heritage village was cool.

Private Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Tour
What a wonderful experience. Our tour guide was knowledgeable about the mosque, the Koran, religion, calligraphy, and the UAE. She always asked if we had any questions and if we wanted her to repeat anything. The private driver was very responsible and friendly.

Half-Day Grand Mosque Tour
A great experience and a worthwhile visit to such an iconic building. Unfortunately the cloudy weather conditions marred better photo's. Gary & Valerie Marsh - England

Private Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Tour
The best part was our tour guide SHAMSA .. She made the experience educational and not just sight seeing .. she was so knowledgeable and professional and fun .. she shared with so much about the culture and background of the construction of the mosque .. We will remember this experience always and she is a part of that memory .. Visiting the mosque without a guide would not have been as fulfilling .. We learned so much .. This tour is a must see if you plan to visit ABU DHABI ..

Sheikh Zayed Mosque with a Professional Photographer
Great place. Lovely tour guide provided a lot of information. But the photographer was not so good. There was just only 1 photographer for 10 people and another disappointment was that we only had 1 hour to spend time at the mosque which I think it was not enough.

Abu Dhabi sightseeing tour from Dubai with Grand mosque visit and lunch
The coach to Abu Dhabi was very modern and comfortable. We saw the highlights of the city. I wish we'd had more time at the Guggenheim. Time at the mosque was appropriate, and our tour guide was very helpful in helping us prepare for it. Women, be sure to wear solid coverings. I wore a light safari shirt that wasn't opaque enough. Luckily, the tour provides appropriate covering for just $3.00. The guide.was thoroughly organized and entertaining, and spoke excellent English. An excellent day!

Abu Dhabi Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque with Coffee at Emirates Palace from Dubai
Amazing tour!!! Emirates Palace was beautiful! I wish we could have access the beach area but it is only for guests. The coffee and cheesecake was great, I felt like royalty. The Mosque was beautifully historic.

When to Get There

The mosque is open daily, except on Fridays which are reserved for worship. Due to the heat, it’s best to visit early in the morning or in the late evening. Golden hour, just before sunset, is the best time to capture photos of the magnificent structure.
