The paths through the olive groves are truly wonderful and the history along the way is quite fascinating. Some of the olive trees are very old and were planted by the Romans! Daniele is very passionate about the area and the history. He brought us to a family owned Masseria to try and purchase some cheese. We stopped along the way for Daniele to point out special features and visited historic and working olive mills. Daniele is super nice, his English is great and he is very accomodating! The tour ended with a beautiful red sunset. We enjoyed the tour so much, we rented bikes for another day. Must do when you want to combine some activity with exploring the region and history of it!

Starting out from Montalbano we’ll cycle on secondary roads with law traffic to reach three different kinds of masserias, each one with different architecture, type, traditional activities and current economic vocation. Tour continuos slowly on small roads lined by stone with drystone walls, rarely visited cattle track and unique landscapes. Target of the excursion is to show the different kind of masseria located between Ostuni and Fasano and the key role the still have in Puglia’s economic and social scenario. At the end of the tour we'll go in an historical masseria to enjoy a light lunch based on organic vegetable products and traditional dish accompanied by a good local wine.

The tour takes place in the wonderful paths of the Itria Valley between Locorotondo Alberobello Cisternino and Martina Franca, we will visit wonderful places surrounded by the ancient trulli of the Itria valley, having the pleasure of riding professional bicycles with pedal assistance. We will leave from Martina Franca and through ancient roads very suggestive we will arrive in Locorotondo where we will visit its famous historic center and take some photographs together, our tour will continue to stop at the famous Alberobello through hidden and not busy paths.In Alberobello we will take a break of 30 minutes, we will have a coffee and we will visit the famous church of Sant'Antonio and the Monte district. At the end of the visit of Alberobello we will head to an ancient Apulian farm located in Locorotondo where the final lunch is scheduled.
