Margarites Village, located between green rolling hills. The village is well known for its pottery which the visitor can purchase along with other items of traditional art – local craft shops are open to welcome tourists. Margarites are worth exploring by walking through the village, you will see beautifully decorated doors and walls, which date from the period of the Venetian occupation. The Monastery of Arkady is surrounded by a strong wall that made it impregnable by the enemies. It is surely the most historic monastery of Crete, it is the sacred symbol of the fight for freedom. In fact, the UNESCO has declared Arkadi a European Monument of Freedom. Rethymnon City is a fascinating walking tour through the narrow winding streets of Rethymnon, the old houses with their wooden covered balconies, the Venetian and the Turkish monuments. Rethymno combines rarely united features: the old town’s charm and history, with proximity to a long sandy beach.

Gorge of Kourtaliotis is one of the most spectacular natural attractions of Rethimno. The huge cliffs of the canyon reach a height of 600 meters and are full of openings and caves. Monastery of Preveli is situated at a beautiful natural setting on the western slopes of the Great River and the palm area. It is built on 170 m of altitude and has breathtaking sea. views. There is a considerable number of images (16th-20th century). Monastery of Preveli is one of the most famous in Crete. Damnoni beach where you can enjoy swimming in a really blue landscape. Damnoni is a popular touristic resort, very well developed and organised. The beach that stretches in front of the resort is a long bay with beautiful turquoise waters and coarse white sand.Spili is a synonym for water since its most characteristic attractions are the 25 fountains. Water, emerging from thirty-nine springs scattered around the area, flows from hydrants shaped like lions’ heads.
