What people are saying about Archaeology Tours in Cusco

star-5
2-Day: Machu Picchu By Train from Cusco
"The tour was pretty awesome. Luis met us the day before to go over the travel plans from Cusco to Machu Picchu and what to expect. Unfortunately, his driver had an accident on his way to pick us up for the hour long car ride. Fortunately, we were able to find a taxi to get us to the meeting point on time. Luis made sure to correct the issue as soon as possible, even exceeding expectations. When we made it to MP the next day, the two of us had a private tour given by Luis. His Knowledge of the area, history, and customs are good. His English is very good. Youll be hard pressed to find another tour guide like Luis."..."

He had a tremendous amount of knowledge and provided insightful cultural and historical context at all the sites we visited. I was impressed by his dedication and I truly can say he was one of the best guide we've ever had. I dont remember his name I think it started with P but Ive attached a photo with him. Sacred Valley Of The Incas Full-Day Tour
"As a solo traveler this was the cheapest tour to see all of the Sacred Valley as other operators quoted me almost $60 more You really do see everything and it was a fantastic lunch. The company is great and arrived to pick me up in time and even worked with me to get me to the airport on time. Excellent communication. And the tour guide was wonderful, knowledgeable and so nice. . My only criticism is that the tour guide had to do interpretation for both Spanish and English guests. It mightve been easier if it was an English guide for English speakers and a Spanish guide for Spanish speakers. However, that doesn't take away from the fact that this was a great tour."..."

Cusco, Machu Picchu and Sacred Valley 5-Day Tour
"Although the tour is promoted as a 5-day Tour, the core tour is really just three and a half days. Still, what you get in that time is packed with history and scenic grandeur. The Cusco part of the tour is a combination of the Spanish heritage of the city, as well as the Inca heritage of the surrounding areas. The Sacred Valley tour is an all-day affair, with a buffet lunch in Ollantaytambo, and a return to the city center not your hotel. The Machu-Picchu part of the tour is in two parts - the first part is the scenic train ride to Aguas Calientes, a charming town in a wooded valley, with the afternoon free. The second part is the next day, with a bus ride to the entrance to Machu Picchu, some time to explore the site on your own, and a 2-hour guided tour of the site. At the end of the tour you return to Aguas Calientes and take the train back to Cusco. You need to be reasonably fit to enjoy some of the sites particularly Ollantaytambo and Machu Picchu, as they involve climbing hills that are occasionally steep. Our tour operator was very prompt and efficient, with airport pickup/drop off, hotel pickups for guided tours, and transfers. Our guides were knowledgeable and spoke English reasonably well. The people we met were warm and welcoming. All-in-all, Peru is a wonderful place to visit, and we were lucky to have a good travel outfit to take us around."..."

Tour to Tipon, Pikillacta, and Andahuaylillas from Cusco
"Jonathan, our tour guide is a professor of history. He was terrific. Our's was a tour group of 2, so basically, a private tour. I wasn't sure what the weather would be like, so I waited until the last minute to book this. We were picked up on time from our hotel. Jonathan shared with us his deep understanding of each site with wonderful personal stories of his own experiences. Tipon was the highlight. We set the pace of the tour through each stop and were free to linger and take pictures. We ended with a stop for some yummy, local bread on the way back to Cuszo. I recommend this tour."..."

"Fantastic Tour, gave some great insight to the Quechwa Culture. Our tour started with the Museum, and then we walked a short distance to the Qorikancha. We made the mistake of not having our altitude meds in order and our group of 3 took various turns feeling ill. Our tour guide ensured that we were good and even stopped and found us Mate de Coca Coca Leaf Tea. We were able to finish our tour without a hitch and it ended at the market where we got to see some interesting sights from food, to dry fruit and nuts, to fruits and slaughtered animals. Definitely not for the people with a weak stomach."..."

6-Day Private Tour to Cusco, Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu
"Outstanding. My adult daughter and I traveled 8/10-16 and had a wonderful time. We had a personal guide, Edith, who was very knowledgeable and fun to be with. We upgraded our lodging to 4-star, and it was well worth it. We had a different guide for Machu Picchu only, Irving, who was also very knowledgeable and personable as well. I must say, most of the info I read that warned of the pitfalls of Peru, were not true in the least. The people were friendly, the food was great. Yes, Cusco does have some run-down areas, but don't most major cities? I definitely recommend this tour, and highly recommend the Casa Andina that we stayed at as part of the lodging (we stayed at 3 diff hotels total)."..."
