Why not combine our two most popular tours into one? See the sights of the historic port city of Halifax and then take in the famous breathtaking sights of Peggy's Cove. Our tour would commence from Pier 21 with its Historic block as the "Ellis Island" of Canada, where more than one million immigrants came through and more than 500,000 left from during WWII. From there we will visit St. Paul's Church, the oldest Anglican church in Canada. As well, St. Paul's Church was among some of the buildings that withstood the Great Halifax Explosion of 1917. We will drive on to Fort Needham Hill where a memorial carillon was built for the victims of that explosion. Then we'll be on to Canada's most famous lighthouse. Peggy's Cove is one of the most unique, captivating and exhilarating eye-openers in Nova Scotia. The quaint seaside hamlets of Shad Bay, Big Lake, East Dover and West Dover, to mention but a few, are also breathtaking.
Join us as we explore the heritage of the Lighthouse Route and learn the stories behind Peggy’s Cove, Chester, Mahone Bay and Lunenburg, when and why they were settled, the history of the fishery and the natural history of the Atlantic Coast.... Discover the connections between coastline, geology, landscapes, climate and natural resources that have sustained these communities for some 250 years -- the ship building and fishing: the gold rushes of the 1800s: the aquaculture and Christmas tree farming of today. Learn about the “who-what-when-why-and-where” of settlements by foreign Protestants, the economic contrasts between the in-shore fishery of Peggy’s Cove and the off-shore fishery of Lunenburg, the local architecture, the triumphs and tragedies of wooden ships and iron men. Explore at your own pace or join our complimentary walking tour of Peggy’s Cove and Lunenburg`s UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Nova Scotia boasts some of the finest winery in Canada. Known for its historic maritime culture, fantastic beaches, the Bay of Fundy's record tides now add a great wine to that list. The earliest vines in Nova Scotia were planted in around 1610 by Champlain's hard-working band of settlers. It was and still is great to relax to a glass of wine after a hard day's work. Today the wine industry in Nova Scotia has grown to become a proud addition to the province's economy. We will begin our tour with the narration of the areas of our intended sites. Our first visit will be at the Domaine de Grand Pre Winery, where we will spend about two hours exploring this site. We will spend the day investigating the various vineyards where you can take in the beauty and sample their unique offerings. This is a day that is spent outdoors so please dress appropriately for this tour. Walking shoes are ideal.
