This is an excellent pick for nature lovers. Visit the spectacular Dark View Falls—a set of twin waterfalls that are reached using a bamboo bridge. The fascinating Dark View Falls tour runs along the West coast of St. Vincent and the Grenadines to the foothills of La Soufriere Volcano. Scenic photo stops along the way will show you our rugged, natural terrain. Passing black sand beaches along the way. A short walk through a bamboo grove, which includes the option of traversing a traditional bamboo pedestrian bridge, will bring you to the impressive falls, which has a pool for bathing and spectacular views. The waterfall cascades about 100 feet. The source of the falls is the Richmond River, which begins in the foothills of the volcano.

The set of the Pirates of the Caribbean (Walliabou)- This site is the actual set for Port Royal of the infamous movie, “Pirates of the Caribbean”. Watching or hearing about the movie is one thing, experiencing it is another! There is an abundance of props and costumes remaining onsite so one can dress up and look like a real life pirate. There are lots of photos and shooting schedule from the movie that was done in 2002 (part#1) and 2005 (part #2 & #3). If you haven’t already seen the movie, that is definitely going to change after this visit. The other stops on this tour are as follows: Fort Charlotte, Fishing Village of Layou and Barrouallie, Walliabou Recreational Park and Buccama Beach.

This tour is a challenging hike to the 4,000-foot summit of La Soufriere Volcano. A tour for the adventurous, it is one of the ultimate highlights of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. This tour includes transportation from your accommodations to the trailhead, a guided hike to the summit and back to the trailhead, and transportation back to your accommodations. The hike takes approximately 4 to 6 hours roundtrip.

The La Soufriere Volcano is the highest mountain peak in St.vincent standing at 4,048ft. This is still an active volcano which last erupted in the year 1979. The total trail is approximately 9miles (15km) long through a rain forest which greets you with panoramic views of the windward and the leeward landscape of svg at the top.

The Owia Salt Pond is a unique and beautiful ocean fed bathing pool, perched at the northern tip of the windward side of St Vincent. Volcanic rock formations surround the pool and reef fish and coral formations add colour and life to the pool. Above the pond is a peaceful garden, with gazebos, food and drink, and a children’s play area. The park is connected to the pool with approximately 217 steps. A littoral forest is a significant feature of the park and the forest serves to protect the steep slopes rising from the pond to the park. Owia village is home to some of the indigenous people of St. Vincent and the Grenadines – the Caribs.

La Soufrière- If you are an eco-tourist, if a day of climbing and hiking fancies you or if you are just looking for the most stunning view available then this trail (4km each way) to an active volcano, St. Vincent’s highest point (4048 feet), La Soufrière, is the tour for you. For the average hiker, two hours will take you to the summit where you can behold the majestic beauty of the Volcano. This tour takes you along the picturesque windward (eastern) coast, through banana and coconut plantations. You travel along steep volcanic ridges verdant with bamboo and tropical trees. One may even be able to climb down into the crater to get a closer look at the steaming doom which plugs the amazing feat. The “on top of the world feeling” and its marvelous view makes this site one not to pass by. Facilities include gazebos, washrooms and parking.

Vermont Nature Trail- Deep in the mountainous bosom of St.Vincent lays hikers’ paradise, the cloud 9 for nature and animal enthusiasts, St. Vincent’s eco-tourist hotspot; the Vermont Nature Trail. The 2 mile trek through the lush woodlands of Vermont is a riveting experience as you will encounter many species of animals and plants including the St.Vincent parrot, our national bird, Amazona Guildingii and Whistling Warbler, both unique to St Vincent and strictly protected. With many look-out points, where one can behold the wonders of nature, clean bathroom facilities and a gift shop where one can purchase souvenirs, a visit to this site is sure to be a memorable one. Dark View Falls are two spectacular waterfalls, one above the other, cascading down high cliff faces and plunging into natural pools. There is a short and easy hike to the falls through rainforest and across the Richmond River via either a bamboo bridge or conventional bridge. You pass through a clearing in the middle of a pretty bamboo grove before reaching the first tall waterfall. Another short, but more difficult walk will take you up to the second waterfall, directly above the first. The waterfalls flow all year from a tributary of the Richmond River.

Buccament Bay beach give travelers the choice of taking a swim on a white or black sand beach. Travelers also have the opportunity to kayak around to the Bat Cave.
