The Basics

At RCA Studio B, you can wander the halls where Dolly Parton and the Everly Brothers once recorded, and even sit at the piano Elvis Presley played. This recording studio, an irreplaceable part of music history, is now part of the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, and its interior in decorated in 1970s-era style, as it was in its heyday as the “Temple of Sound.”

Guided studio tours depart every day from the Country Music Hall of Fame and are available in conjunction with Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum admission. You can also see RCA Studio B as one of the attractions included in the Nashville Music Attraction Discount Pass, which also includes admission to other Music City highlights such as the Ryman Auditorium, the Grand Ole Opry, and the Johnny Cash Museum.

Loved the Country Music Hall of Fame RCA not so much.

The Country Music Hall of Fame was amazing. We spent 3 hours in there. Probably would have stayed longer but it was closing. We aren’t country music fans per say but may have walked away as one. The history and memorabilia was just wonderful. The RCA Studio B tour was ... meh. The guide was brilliant but there’s really not much to see there. If you’re a big Elvis fan go.

Our tour guide was wonderful! She knew her history of the area very well. The coolest part was sitting in the studio at Elvis’s favorite piano, then listening to some Elvis tunes!

Hall of fame is a must if you love country music. Studio B is worth every penny. Our tour guide debbie was funny and made the event worth it. It was nice to get a souvenir from the hatch. I see those posters everywhere now.

Studio B should be a MUST on your list

The RCA Studio B tour was so informative and entertaining! I am not a musician and I am not a fan of history, but this tour was so interesting. Studio B should be a must on everyone's list. It was a bonus to see the Music Hall of fame as well, but if I was only able to see one it would be Studio B! Matt was our guide and he was awesome!

The Nashville Sound

RCA Studio B is credited with reviving the popularity of country music in the 1960s, introducing what became known as the Nashville Sound. This style of music was more sophisticated than other country styles, and incorporated string instruments and background vocals. Music fans consider a visit to the studio, which made Nashville into an international recording center, a must-do when visiting Music City.
