Central Park Conservatory Garden

Central Park Conservatory Garden

5th Ave and 105th St., New York City, New York, 10029

The Basics

The only formal garden in Central Park, the Conservatory Garden comprises 6 acres (2.4 hectares) of carefully maintained grounds covered with flowers, trees, and shrubs. The space consists of three distinctly styled areas, including an English-, Italian-, and French-influenced garden.

To fully experience the Conservatory and learn a bit about its history, consider booking a Central Park walking or photography tour. Most tours stop by the park’s most important sights, including the manicured expanse of the Conservatory Garden.

Guided Bike Tour of Central Park New York City
We had a an absolutely great tour of Central Park with Edward. He was very informative and clearly passionate about his city. A bike tour seems like the best way to see most of the park if you are visiting NYC, you would need to visit several times to see all of it! The rental bikes were also very good quality. Overall one of the most pleasant bike rides I’ve had!

Guided Bike Tour of Central Park New York City
Our tour was an amazing experience! Got to ride bikes around the most famous park with great history given by our tour guide Phillip. Phillip was great, he was kind enough to take pics of us, gave the history of the park and pointed out structures that were filmed :) I highly recommend this tour, my daughter (13) was able to complete it and was not too hard for her.

Romantic ride through Central Park

Private Horse and Carriage Ride in Central Park
Because there was such a high demand for carriages, we had to wait a bit for our driver. But, once our driver showed up we got in and were on our way. The scenery was beautiful... the history behind the different landmarks and locations was intriguing. It was extremely romantic. The driver was knowledgeable and friendly. I will definitely do this again when I return!!

Great Walking Tour Of Northern Central Park

New York Central Park Secrets - Walking Tour
This was a great tour - Fred is a terrific guide, and it was a perfect socially-distanced way to spend the morning. I'm a native New Yorker and was shocked at all the lovely parts of northern Central Park that I was unfamiliar with.

When to Get There

The Conservatory Garden is open—and lovely—year-round from 8am to dusk. A sunny afternoon is best, ideally with flowers in bloom, though the winter months imbue the park with a unique charm under a layer of snow. The garden hosts many weddings in peak season, so expect crowds during summer weekends. Consider a midday weekday stroll, for the most contemplative experience.
