Carretera Federal Libre Chetumal – Puerto Juarez Km 283.5, Ejido Sur, Playa del Carmen

The Basics

Most Rio Secreto tours leave from Playa del Carmen, Cancun, Tulum, and other Riviera Maya destinations. At the nature reserve, you can tour the underground river, visit the famous Crystal Caves, and learn about ancient Maya legends. Combo tours combine a visit to Rio Secreto with other activities, such as early-access visits to the Tulum ruins, mountain biking excursions, or ATV tours.

Knowledgeable and engaged tour guide. Spectacular underground caves. Well planned, all required gear (helmet with light, life jacket, swim shoes etc) were provided.

Río Secreto Nature Reserve from Playa del Carmen
It's an amazing tour, an experience we'll never forget. We can very much recommend it. The staff is super nice and welcoming. The only downside: Photos of the tour are rediculously expensive (25USD p.p. or 99USD for all).

Rio Secreto Underground River Tour with Crystal Caves
Very interesting experience. We were a little worried the water was going to be too cold but it wasn't too bad. It does require some walking and swimming so be prepared. One thing to know is that you are not allowed to take your own pictures. They do have a photographer that take pictures for you but it's $25 USD per picture or $99 for all pics they took for you, which is priced quite high comparing to any other tours that offer pictures.

Full-Day Tulum Expedition and Rio Secreto Adventure
This was such an amazing experience and I highly recommend it to everyone. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was because the transportation was kind of messy. Either than that, it was great!

I have been very impressed by the organisation, there is a lot of visitors but everything is going smoothly and fast, the people are adorable, muchos gracias Aaronn! The only black point is that we can not take pictures or video and the pictures they sell you is very expensive! But the memories remain!! Well done to the team, nice to see how well the reserve is preserved!

Rio Secreto Underground River Tour with Crystal Caves
This was probably my favorite excursion. This cave was amazing to explore. Our tour guide, Mich, was so passionate and patient. You could really tell that he loves his job and his community. If you do this tour, ask for Mich to be your guide. You will not be sorry.

Río Secreto Nature Reserve from Playa del Carmen
Incredible experience! About a two hour hike and swim through the caverns followed by a tasty lunch. Definitely need to be fit to do this excursion with no fear of the dark or small spaces.
