The Basics

You can climb, jump off, and slide down natural waterslides on this obstacle course created by Mother Nature and the Damajagua River. Tour guides will take you as far as the seventh waterfall and provide appropriate safety equipment, such as helmets and life jackets. It is possible to explore beyond the seventh waterfall, but interested adrenaline seekers will need to arrange private transportation from Puerto Plata or Cabarete, then a private guide and safety equipment upon arrival at Damajagua Falls.

Had a blast!
Had a blast!! The hike up was about 30 minutes, but it wasn't too bad. I recommend getting a photographer to take the photos (which is offered). Carlos was a great tour guide.

Amber Cove Shore Excursion: 27 Waterfalls of Damajagua / Cruise Ship Passengers
We had a great time! Raul was an awesome guide; very friendly & helpful and even held my glasses during the jumps. The water was low and we only got to do 8 falls, but it was still absolutely worth it! I would definitely choose this over your ship's version of it--we met some friends on our cruise who did Carnival's version of it, and they said Carnival's policy didn't allow them to jump at all (only slide).

Amber Cove Shore Excursion: 27 Waterfalls of Damajagua / Cruise Ship Passengers
Would definitely recommend this excursion. The guides were very helpful and provided a lot of helpful hints as to how and where to jump for your safety. Given that there were other groups on the falls, our guide recognized that we were moving faster than most and would pull us through the other groups so we would not have to stand and wait. Very impressed with this excursion.

Amber Cove Shore Excursion: 27 Waterfalls of Damajagua / Cruise Ship Passengers
This was our favorite part of our trip. The guides were so friendly and did a great job leading this tour. Bus transportation was clean and they gave us all cold bottled water. After the hike, we were served a wonderful lunch. Would highly recommend. A great activity in a hot climate. Since we were in the water most of the time, we stayed nice and cool.

Highlight of our cruise, not to be missed!

Amber Cove Shore Excursion: 27 Waterfalls of Damajagua / Cruise Ship Passengers
Amber Cove is a beautiful port on the tropical island of the Dominican Republic. The walk was an easy one to find the shuttle, exactly where they told us they would be. We were informed that there were only 7 waterfalls available and we had the option to not do the excursion but we were undeterred and glad that we did not cancel. They even gave us a partial refund for the shortened trip but don't be discouraged by this! Even with a shortened trip it was worth every penny and should not be missed. The hike was easy if you are in shape but be advised that could be difficult if not. The guides are great, we had our older parents with us and new they might not be able to make the excursion but they wanted to be with the family. Ricardo was so great and took them up a hike where they could wait for the rest of us to come down the falls. Our parents were so appreciative of this and enjoyed the hike with him while he described many details along the way. All this and his still managed to catch up with us at the top! The slides are amazing and the jumps are exhilarating, you can even do both sometimes on the same waterfall. Carlos, our main guide, made the trip a great one and the hike through the jungle to the top is a beautiful one. Lunch afterwards was a real treat and the rum and cokes hit the spot! Definitely pay for the photographer, you won't have time nor want to stop to take your own pictures as everything will be very wet. Can't speak highly enough of Carlos and his crew, all of us wanted to return to the island again and hopefully hit some more waterfalls when the rain cooperates.

Myself and my 11 year old daughter had a fantastic trip, doing the 12 waterfalls. Paying for the photos / videos was well worth the money and memories have truly been made! Thank you

I was really impressed as I had my 11 and 8 year old daughters on the 12 waterfalls and the guys were awesome with my 8 year old as she was hesitant to jump and slide in the river. They were very excited and able to give her confidence to do nearly all of the waterfalls. Thanks again!

Amber Cove Shore Excursion: 27 Waterfalls of Damajagua / Cruise Ship Passengers
This was an experience not to be missed if you like a little excitement in your tours. We did the 12 falls which was a moderate hike up but included plenty of rest breaks if needed. The water levels were low during our visit but we still completed most of the jumps and slides. Water was cool and trip down fun. Our guide Alex and driver Imdy from Iguana Mama tours were great from pickup to dropoff. They made sure we had a good time. A great tour!

Amber Cove Shore Excursion: 27 Waterfalls of Damajagua / Cruise Ship Passengers
The hike up was a great work out, jumping off cliffs and down natural slides into the most refreshing water. The guides were alot of fun and very patient with those who were frightened to jump or needed extra help getting thru. Buffet lunch and rum and cokes rounded out the perfect day!
