The Basics

Walking tours are a great way to experience Old Quebec, as its many sights, including the Château Frontenac and Dufferin Terrace, are best explored on foot. The area can also be seen by bike and even from the air. Those interested in experiencing the old city through its food can take a food tour and sample the best of many French-Canadian eats. Most Quebec City tours include a stop at the area’s Place Royale, which is considered the cradle of French civilization in North America.

Full-Day Quebec City and Cruise Tour
It was an absolutely enjoyable trip for me everything was just great and our tour guide (Eddy) was very friendly and professional and made sure everyone was feeling comfortable and safe especially to the covid safety measures, we left around 7 am and reached back at 8:30 pm, and I had all the time I needed to enjoy and view each of the attractions spots we visited, differently highly recommended tour and I may do it again with my friends or maybe in winter

Quebec City and Montmorency Falls Day Trip from Montreal
The tour guide was very knowledgeable. I was able to learn a lot of fun facts about Quebec City. The driver also had some back stories on some of the places that we were passing. It was also nice to just sit back and enjoy the ride with out worrying about where to go and parking.

Half-Day Trip to Montmorency Falls and Ste-Anne-de-Beaupré from Quebec city
What a delightful afternoon I had on this tour. I’m a bit embarrassed to say that I’ve forgotten the name of my tour guide. He was so enthusiastic and knowledgeable and he managed to pack so much into the time we had. I saw the falls, A famous copper art shop, some of Île d’Orleans, many villages on the Beaupré coast and of course, Ste Anne de Beaupré. I would say this tour is a must for travellers to Quebec City!

When to Get There

Summer is the most popular time to visit Quebec City, and while the warm weather draws larger crowds, it also allows for al fresco dining and charming sidewalk cafés. The winter months are also full of activity and are quite beautiful if you don’t mind the cold—average winter temperatures are often below 20 degrees Fahrenheit (-6 Celsius).

Highlights of Old Quebec

The winding streets of Vieux Quebec are charming in their own right, but the old city’s many monuments and museums are not to be overlooked. Particularly picturesque are the Basilica of Notre-Dame de Quebec, La Citadelle, and the Place Royale. Also worth a visit are the nearby Plains of Abraham, a historic park and former battlefield, and the beautiful Montmorency Falls, on the Beaupré shore. These can all be visited easily in one day and are included in most Quebec City sightseeing tours.
