Snæfellsnes peninsula
On this route we will explore the National park of Snæfellsnes Peninsula, driving through lava fields along the coast and there will be many classic Icelandic photo opportunities on our way. We will make sure to visit most popular sites at the national park such as Sönghellir and Vatnshellir cave.
Whether you are interested in bird life, black beaches, glaciers or history, you have come to the right place.
Snæfellsnes glacier has been an inspiration to many poets and writers such as Juels Vern and our Nobel prize winner Halldór Laxness. Some believe it is one of the seven chakras in the world.
We will be hiking around beautiful old fishing village Arnarstapi. On our way we will enjoy the scenery and breathing in the sea breeze is quite memorable. Good idea to have fish and chips here for lunch.
On our way back we will visit Djúplónsandur referred to as black pearl beach and enjoy the sea breeze.
