San Francisco Dungeon

Daily
145 Jefferson Street, San Francisco, California

The Basics

San Francisco Dungeon consists of 10 different scenes from the city’s past, including a Wild West saloon, a gold mine shaft, a courtroom, Chinatown streets, and a ship manned by shanghaied sailors. Expect sensory effects, and ghoulish yet lighthearted audience participation as you move through each attraction on foot.

Timed admission tickets can be purchased in advance and mean that you avoid waiting in the ticket line on arrival. The dungeon is also included on several San Francisco attraction and sightseeing passes, and can be visited in conjunction with Madame Tussaud's wax museum, located next door, with a combo ticket.

Wonderful!

Great way to see the San Francisco bay area. I used this bus yesterday May 17th and there were no issues with wait times. We waited no more than 10-15 mins for a bus to come by at each stop. Those negative reviews were likely during covid. So don't hesitate to use this method of getting around to see the city and Golden Gate Bridge. You won't regret it.

What a fantastic time we had! 10 family members from 8 to 65 years old and we ALL had a blast! Staff were friendly, always with a smile and very helpful! The day flew-by way too quickly! We saw the best that beautiful San Francisco has to offer from clean, safe buses! This is a must to do for everyone!

We try to do a hop on hop off tour in new cities. This was so informative and really seemed to cover all the sites to see! My only recommendation is I wish our driver was giving the tour because he had such an amazing personality

Had a great time learning about parts of SF. The on board narrative was very informative and the on-off process very friendly.

This is the easiest way to get around the city. You don’t need to worry about parking or driving; you get to know the lay of the land. Although I was a returning visitor, I did one loop to remind myself of what I wanted to see for longer, and hopped off at several stops in the day. I think it is good value.

Loved the commentary, varied locations, golden Gate vista point was stunning and the seals at Pier 39 as well as the claim chowder at Boudin's. Don't forget to visit the Ghiradelli chocolate factory too.

The only way to get around town in San Francisco.

Best way to see all the city and decide where you want to spend time. Be careful- the. 2 day deluxe ticket MUST BE USED ON CONSECUTIVE DAYS. I didn’t know that but was able to buy extension for $15 to allow us to use it on the weekend. Be careful not to get LAST BUS at any one location unless you are OK ending up at Fisherman’s Wharf. We got stuck there but Uber was only $12 back to Union Square.

Along Fisherman’s Wharf

San Francisco Dungeon fits easily into a day spent at Fisherman’s Wharf, one of San Francisco's most popular destinations. Come face-to-face with California's marine life at Pier 39, known for its wild sea lions and Aquarium of the Bay, or cruise beneath the Golden Gate Bridge and around Alcatraz Island on a San Francisco Bay cruise. Dine on clam chowder and sourdough bread at a waterfront restaurant, finishing on a sweet note with a chocolate treat at Ghirardelli Square.
