The bay used to be home to an army base and access might be limited during some periods. St. Mary's Monastery rises above the hill in the interior part of Kakome Bay, far from the inhabited center.. The position of the monastery and the architectural - constructive level of the remaining buildings testify to its importance and values. The monastery complex consists of churches, towers and a two-storey building used for service facilities.
