One of the best things about Savannah is that it’s a pleasure to stroll. With over 900 buildings listed as historically or architecturally significant, a walk through Savannah’s Historic District has its appeal.
On day two it’s time to shop and eat like the locals do. Start your morning with a walk down Savannah’s Broughton Street, and see all the small boutiques that make the street famous. People come to Savannah for this street alone, so if you’ve got a shopper in the mix, be forewarned. Another great spot to stroll some of Savannah’s best shops is the Savannah Historic Market.
Part of the great thing about Savannah is that it’s chock-full of history. From as early as the late 1700s, things have been happening here, and with so much history you might figure that there would be a lot to explore – and you’d figure correctly. If architecture is your thing, consider stopping by several of Savannah’s famous historic homes like the Owens-Thomas House.
