Fimmvorduhals Day Hike by Super Jeep

Fimmvorduhals Day Hike by Super Jeep

The hike through Fimmvörðuháls, from Skógar to Þórsmörk, is one of Iceland´s best known hiking routes.  We start our day at the 60 m high Skógarfoss waterfall, where we begin our 25 kilometer hike towards Þórsmörk. The trail winds along Skógá River and its many waterfalls, and up between the two Glaciers, Eyjafjallajökull and Mýrdalsjökull. There we will experience the recent lava flow from the 2010 eruption on Fimmvörðuháls and hike on the two volcanic craters – Móði and Magni. From there we will start our decent towards Þórsmörk, where the view can be spectacular. If we are lucky we can see Volcanos, Glaciers, the Highlands and Glacier valleys. Our hike takes us through rough Icelandic landscape and beautiful nature.

Half-Day Katla Ice Cave Tour from Vík

Half-Day Katla Ice Cave Tour from Vík

This is a super jeep adventure with the unforgettable experience of walking through caves made from ice on the Katla glacier. To get to the glacier we use modified jeeps with huge tyres. This is part of the adventure. When we arrive at the base of the glacier in the middle of the Icelandic wilderness, we will explore ice caves, and hike around a little on the glacier. After that we drive to Hjorleifshofdi, a deserted black sand beach. We only focus on small groups, with a more personal service. We spend as much time as is possible on the glacier giving you the chance to really take in this once in a lifetime opportunity. Our guides know these areas very well and have been working in the area for many years. All of our guides have experience and are trained in glacial exploration and are first aid certified.

With this tour, take an easy glacier hike to see ice formations, crevasses, and water cauldrons that you’d miss just stopping for a look. Your climbing crampons are provided, and the guided hike is offered 2-3 times a day so it’s easier to fit into your schedule.

Iceland: Landmannalaugar ecotour with PhD guide

Iceland: Landmannalaugar ecotour with PhD guide

star-5
1
Landmannalaugar is one of a kind and no surprise it is one of the most popular natural attraction in Iceland. The geological formations with their stunning colors and geothermal heat are super motives for the eye or camera. Your guide has a Ph.D. in botany and has a deep understanding of the environmental issues dealt with in Iceland. During the drive, the elevation increases and you can definitely sense a change. The vegetation changes, sometimes the weather changes and so does the scenery of course. We drive very close to the majestic Hekla volcano which has erupted five times since 1947 and is due to erupt again any day. We then follow the narrow roads into the mountains, cross a few rivers and are soon in Landmannalaugar. And on the way we can - of course - stop as often as you like for photos. Landmannalaugar from Hella - two perfect locations!

South Coast and Waterfalls Day Tour

South Coast and Waterfalls Day Tour

From Reykjavik we will make our way towards the cliffs of southern Iceland. Our first stop will be at Seljalandfoss, the famous waterfall that allows travelers to walk behind the column of water that plummets down from the cliffs above, and its impressive and surprising neighbor, Gljúfrabúi, or the ¨hidden waterfall¨, that many travelers do not visit because it does not appear in all guidebooks. In this area we will witness the effects of the famous Eyjafjallajökull, the volcano that caused chaos in European air traffic in 2010. We will continue our southern route to Skógafoss, a waterfall that measures 60 meters tall and 25 meters wide and is one of the biggest in Iceland. Here we will have the chance to enjoy the surrounding areas and climb to the highest point of the waterfall. Our next stop will be in Reynisfjara, a black-sand beach that boasts impressive basaltic rock formations and views of the famous trolls that, according to legend, were petrified when caught in the sea at sunrise. Dyrhólaey will be our final stop of the day, and from this lookout point high above the sea we will observe interesting lava formations as well as large puffin colonies that nest here in the summer months (mid-June to mid-August). This is a unique day tour to several spectacular sites along Iceland´s South Coast. You don't want to miss it! Tour guided in English and Spanish (español)with stops at Seljalandsfoss, Gljúfrabúi, Skógafoss, Reynisfjara and Dyrhólaey
