The Basics

Just outside of Tulum, the Grand Cenote is among the most accessible of the many cenotes on the Yucatan Peninsula. You can visit from Tulum on your own or as part of a sightseeing, snorkeling, or scuba diving tour. Alternatively, make the trip from Playa Del Carmen on a tour that also includes Maya ruins and picturesque Caribbean beaches. Consider booking a cenote-hopping tour that hits other top cenotes in the area.

Perfect 3 in 1!

Swim with turtles + Snorkel + Tulum archaeological zone + Cenote
Mario was great! We had a private tour with 5 adults and 4 kids (10, 10, 9 & 7). We swam first and saw turtles, lots of fish, a stingray and a sand shark. Snorkels are not provided bc of covid of course. Then we went to Tulum where Mario was very informative. Then he took us to an authentic Mexican restaurant which was delicious! And finally swam in the Gran Cenote which was amazing and relaxing! We went into the caves and saw lots of turtles, fish and bats. It was a great 3 in 1 adventure!

Cenote Triple Adventure Tour in Tulum
The cenotes were beautiful! Martin and Marielle were the most informative guides. Not only about the cenotes but the town. My husband has a peanut allergy they even read the note and brought him his own snack! Super thoughtful and lots of fun! Would definitely recommend

Cenote Triple Adventure Tour in Tulum
This is the most amazing cenote tour I’ve been on. If you are looking for a non commercialized experience this is it. Our tour summer was so cool and knowledgeable. The cenotes were quiet and even got to cliff jump into one. I recommend everyone to book this adventure you will absolutely love it!

TULUM RISING-Early Bird Experience-Ruins-Cenote-Lagoon-Private Expedition.
Our tour guide was soooo knowledgeable. He is an anthropologist and taught us so much about the Mayan culture during our tour through the Tulum Ruins. Then took us to the Gran Cenote. And finally, to the Kaan Luum lagoon. He also showed us the best places to take photos for instagram and was super patient when we decided to take photos in all locations. This experience was a 10/10. Thank you!!!

TULUM & CENOTE from Riviera Maya, Cancun and Tulum (Private)
Efren was just wonderful. My family enjoyed a great day out and he was very accommodating with our family of 4, which included a 4 year old and 7 year old. Very knowledgeable, professional, and really made the trip so much fun. The kids loved swimming in the cenote.

My boyfriend and I were the only ones on the tour! Our guide had mentioned that the day before, the tour had 26 people! We were very excited that we had a private tour. Our guide, Summer, was very nice and was a lot of fun. We loved every minute of it!

Highlights of the Grand Cenote

The ecosystem within the freshwater cavern is home to an array of plant and animal species, including bats, as well as geological formations such as stalactites and stalagmites. The lush foliage, vines, and colorful flowers create a cave-like tropical paradise. The crystal-clear water makes it easy to spot turtles and schools of fish, whether via snorkeling or from the boardwalk.
