Candy Cliffs in Saint George Utah

Candy Cliffs in Saint George Utah

Yant Flat! I haven't said "WOW" this many times since I listened to Dark Side of the Moon with headphones on. This remote and colorful area of Southern Utah can be reached from St George in about 1 hour/Las Vegas in 2.5 hours and Kanab Utah in 1 hour 45 minutes. The area is exceptional for both hikers and photographers and isn't on the well traveled/photographed category of Antelope Canyon or Horseshoe Bend in Arizona. This area will reward you with the landscape images you are looking for. Constant views of Zion National Park as well as the multi colored stripes of CandyLand will keep you amazed all day. Hike is considered moderate and is a minimum of 4 miles roundtrip to experience the area. Navajo Sandstone has been lifted up by the volcanic rock below and weathered into the well known domes located throughout Arizona and Utah. Brain rock or turtleback are some of the names given to this areas landscape but you might just be left speechless.

Snow Canyon Tour with Lava Tube Cave that descends 150ft

Snow Canyon Tour with Lava Tube Cave that descends 150ft

We have first hand knowledge of Snow Canyon and the sites here that are the most interesting. Pioneer names is a short hike (1/4 mile) that shows the names of early settlers inscribed in the sandstone. For the athletic, we can scramble up the sandstone to get a closer look. Sand dunes here offer some of the softest sand we have even seen. This is the perfect place for family photos or just relax your feet in the sand. An ancient volcano swept through this canyon and left its trail of volcanic flow. See some extraordinary lava formations including tunnels that were formed as the lava flowed and air pushed through the center. One of these formed tunnels descends over 150 feet.

Private Wild Horse Photo Safari from Tooele

Private Wild Horse Photo Safari from Tooele

star-5
4
The drive from Tooele to the Onaqui HMA will take approximately 45 minutes & once we arrive at the range, there are various locations where we will begin to look for the herd grazing, resting or coming to/from the watering holes. Depending on where the horses are located, there will likely be a bit of walking involved, so close toed shoes are required, and dressing in layers is also recommended to account for weather change. During your time in the field you will receive one on one photography instruction to help you improve your technical skills as well as your ability to creatively frame an image. Achieving beautiful wildlife photographs is about more than just being in the right place at the right time, it's about seeing the possibilities of the scene unfolding in front of you through the lens. Please feel free to bring your preferred camera body, lens and tripod/monopod combinations but all external light sources and drones must be left at home.

You’ll see and learn about world-famous sights like Angel’s Landing and the Zion Narrows. Use this tour to experience Zion via car, bike or shuttle. If driving, purchase one tour per car. If shuttling, one per person. Check the park’s website for driving permissions. Follow route & speed limit for the best experience. Because of the poor signal at the park, use Offline Mode when touring. This is not an entrance ticket. Check opening hours and pandemic rules before your visit.

4-Days Hiking Adventure in Moab

4-Days Hiking Adventure in Moab

Hike one of Canyonlands National Park’s most secluded and challenging trails: the Lathrop Canyon Trail. Experience Arches National Park's famous hoodoos: the otherworldly landscapes of natural stone formations and watch the sunrise through Mesa Arch. Spend your evenings stargazing and planet-spotting in some of the USA's best dark sky locations Good Trip guides are professionally licensed. We are vetted thoroughly, trained often, and prepared for the unexpected. But most importantly, we love what we do. Our team is made up of Master Naturalists, Wilderness First Responders, rock climbers, thru-hikers, kayakers, conservation volunteers, scientists, inspiring storytellers, and Master’s in outdoor education, environmental education, and sustainability education. We regularly volunteer with local non-profits to improve trail conditions, remove invasive plant species, and improve wildlife habitat.
