Departure Time

6:00 AM
Your full-day tour starts early with morning pickup from Alice Springs by comfortable air-conditioned coach.

Travel through the West MacDonnell Ranges heading towards your first stop at Erldunda Roadhouse for a buffet breakfast. You'll take rest stops during the 6-hour drive and your guide provides a packed lunch to eat during the final 10 miles (18 km) that lead to World Heritage-listed Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park.

Upon arrival in the national park, head to Walpa Gorge for your first walk. View the dome-shaped rock formations of Kata Tjuta from a close vantage point as you walk about 1.5 miles (2.6km). Then learn more about the Aboriginal Pitjantjatjara people and Central Australia at the Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre.

Next, go to the base of Uluru (Ayers Rock) for the Mala Walk, which features fine examples of Aboriginal rock art, plus sheer rock walls and important sites for the Aboriginal people. Then drive to the other side of Uluru for a short walk to the Mutitjulu Waterhole. As you marvel at the shimmering water and red rock, learn from your guide about the legend of the ancestral water snake named Wanampi.

Before sundown, go to the Uluru sunset viewing area for the highlight of the day: watching the sun set over Uluru. Sip a glass of bubbly and appetizers as the sky changes color, then feast on a classic Australian barbecue dinner buffet.

When night falls, start the drive back to to Alice Springs where your tour ends with hotel drop-off late at night.

We then head to the base of Uluru (Ayers Rock), which is next to the entrance to the Uluru climb. From here one of the two guides will take you on a guided Mala Walk. The Mala Walk follows the north-west side of Uluru, where there are many fine examples of Anangu rock art, and you can experience the wonder of the sheer vertical walls. The guide will tell Dreamtime stories of the Anangu People. We drive from the front of Uluru around to the Kuniya car park, which is at the back of Uluru. From here we start our second Uluru guided walk to the Mutitjulu Waterhole. The guide will take you along a short track to the Mutitjulu Waterhole – home of an ancestral water snake called Wanampi. The guide will share stories of local traditions and explain how the Anangu people traditionally used the waterhole for hunting. The caves containing rock art were used in the past by Anangu still alive today. The scene has been set, the highlight of the day, the breathtaking Uluru sunset with a glass of bubbly(or BYO beer) and a delicious Aussie BBQ. A spectacular day never to be forgotten. After sunset, we set off to Alice Springs. Or if you’re ending the tour at Ayers Rock Resort you’ll be dropped off at Outback Pioneer after sunset.

Knowledgeable Guides
, Mar 2021
The Guides were really knowledgeable and passionate about the subject matter. They cooked a great BBQ and were super friendly. The only issue with the tour is that as a single woman travelling alone, they only do drop off's at hotels and not at private residences and therefore you need to run in the dark alone. The Company stated that this is because of the large bus restrictions in residential areas, however I believe that other arrangements should be made as they do also have a smaller bus. There were three women travelling alone with concerns on our bus.
brilliant team work

Full on day, but worth every penny. Early pick up to possibly the best buffet breakfast in aus. Driver was funny, knowledgeable and knew when to let people just relax and sleep. Got to see all that was available in the area without being rushed. Dinner at sunset was the highlight though, if you love a good bbq with plenty of wine!! Highly recommend it. Thanks (staysafe with) Lath and (are you ready for) Eddie!!
