Semi-Private Tour of Van Gogh Museum

I was somewhat hesitant to book this tour as it was rather expensive. In retrospect it was well worth it, as an excellent tour guide with a limited number of people provides the visitor with a much greater understanding of Van Gogh and his art. Our tour guide, Angelo, was outstanding. It was evident that he has a background in art, and is quite knowledgeable and passionate about Van Gogh. This was a two hour tour, so it was quite thorough. He covered many of his paintings from the beginning or his career to the end, and of course the collection is probably the best in the world. He spoke about Van Gogh’s life, and related it to his paintings, and what Van Gogh was trying to do. He talked about Van Gogh’s influences and his troubled life. We had time to appreciate the paintings. I highly recommend Angelo, and this tour to the novice, or someone with an art background.
