Ancient Agora of Athens, Adrianou 24, Athina 105 55, Greece
Meet your guide and tour group in the Syntagma metro station, then make a brief visit to the Metro Museum. See the artifacts that were dug up when the metro station was constructed; these items help give a picture of the daily lives of ancient Athenians.

Move on to the House of the Greek Parliament and the Monument of the Unknown Soldier, where you will witness the changing of the guards. See native Greek flora at the National Gardens, then to the photo-worthy neoclassical architecture of Zappeion Hall. Stand below the looming surviving columns of Hadrian's Arch and the Temple of Zeus, which stand in front of the hall.

Follow your guide through the Acropolis' south slope entrance, which is less crowded and will get you in quickly to see the Dionysus Theater and the Dionysus sanctuary. Stop for a snack and some refreshments at the Acropolis canteen (own expense) before your tour.  Explore all of the Acropolis' famous monuments, such as Pnyx Hill, Mars Hill, Philopappos, the Observatory, the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, the Agrippa Monument, Nike Temple, the Propylaia, the Erechtheion and the Parthenon. As you walk, snap photos and listen to your guide's engaging commentary. After your guided tour, feel free to explore independently and take photos.

Head down to the Ancient Agora, once the community center of ancient Athenian life, and the location of lectures by the famous philosophers Socrates and Plato. Visit the Hephaestus Temple (the best preserved Greek Temple from the 5th century BC), the CHurch of the 12 Apostles, the Temple of Apollo Patroos, the Stoa of Zeus and the Altar of Zeus.

At the Attalos Museum, see artifacts like ancient Greek identification cards and the original weights and measures used  by the Market inspectors.

End your tour at the ancient Agora at 3pm.

The best tour I’ve had!

Annie was my guide and she was really knowledgeable and friendly. She always reminded of where we could get food and the toilet was. She was a walking history book but engaging and humorous. Highly recommend!

This was an extremely detailed and well organized tour. Our guide had an encyclopedia-like knowledge base of all sites visited, and by the end, I felt like I could Ace an exam on the topics. Our young children seemed to get something out of it, but it was challenging to keep their attention after noon on such a detail heavy tour. The top of the Acropolis offers spectacular views of the sprawling city of Athens. Our tour ended around 3 and started at 8:30. A long day but well worth it, since it effectively offers just about all of the most significant Athens sites in one pass.

This was a great tour. We did it in the cold rain, so that made it a bit of a challenge, but it was still a good tour. We had Dorina, who had a degree in history I think, we did several tours, so I forget now. Anyhow, very informative, interested, passionate, and authoritative she knew what she was talking about.

Amazing day! Ive been to Athens...

Amazing day! Ive been to Athens twice and thought that I had seen these sites before. We approached the Acropolis from a direction I never had so I received some great new shots. I finally was able to see the changing of the guard at Syntagma Square and the Temple of Hephaestus. Be prepared for a lot of walking though.

The tour was fabulous and our tour...

The tour was fabulous and our tour guide, ERMIS was the most knowledgeable tour guide you could possibly ask for. He made the tour so much better and we were so thankful to have him and not the other guides. The tour itself is long and very comprehensive and involves a fair bit of walking. But,it is a walking tour and we did the optional Ancient Agora and Attalos Museum tour, which made it even longer. Highly recommend the Agora add on tour. Expect a large crowd when you reach the Acropolis, I mean a LARGE crowd, but, everyone has the same idea, so be prepared. The price was reasonable for the tour. To sum up, highly recommend this tour and if you get ERMIS as your tour guide...thank your lucky stars.

The tour was great! Our guide (Kostas) made it informative and fun. We never felt rushed or like we could not ask a question. We had two children under 11 and he was very patient with us...especially since it was so hot up on the Acropolis. We learned a lot and got some amazing pictures.
