Very Interesting tour but very uncomfortable!

I do recommend this tour and so lucky to have Mr. Samir as our tour guide. He is very knowledgeable of history of the world and enjoyed listening to him. All the places we visited are very interesting. The only thing that’s bad is the transportation since it’s old and air condition was not working well at all. That’s everyone’s main complain. I wanted to book another tour with this company but it was very uncomfortable especially for full day tour.

Thank You very much, for taking your time to review us. Unfortunately, this time we have to agree that yes, the airconditioning system of the car was not enough in your tour. The reason of it was that if Mercedes Sprinter car is fully booked, and if the weather is +38C degrees, the AC may not cool properly. To not have the same situation again, we split guests to smaller groups. The weather in Gabala or in Guba is cooler than Baku, so You should book another tour. In any case, would be better for You to let us know your concern earlier, and we would be more helpful than apologizing here. Best wishes, TES Tour team

Nice Day Trip outside of Baku

Very interesting trip taking in some of the major attractions outside of Baku. Guide was very knowledgeable about the history and traditions associated with each of the locations visited. Plenty of time allowed in each place, no rushing. Air-conditioned transportation which was very welcome considering the heat on the day of the trip.

Really interesting tour lead by Samir, an unbelievable historian, proud citizen, hard working, funny man! His personal history is really remarkable, and he knows so much about so many things. What an asset to have Samir as a tour guide for this company. A long day, but Samir made it incredibly enjoyable. A true gentleman, history buff, and comedian!!! Thank you, The Ryans

I am a seasoned traveler so I may have higher expectations than some other people. However, seasoned or not, I took a new traveler with me and both of us thought the tour was a bust/waste of time and money. The first stop was for a bathroom break and refreshments. The place was a total dump. Bathroom was nothing short of nasty. Much nicer and cleaner places were near by. The rock wall with carvings was a non-event. Had to use your imagination to even come close to getting anything from this. The mud volcanoes was not any better. Nothing but a little mud bubbling out of the surface. Don't eat before going as the road was a long bumpy pothole. Getting sick is a real possibility. Lunch was in a "local" type place. The food was cold and did not have much taste. Price was cheap and you got what you paid for. The location was near the Ateshgah Temple which would have been OK if you could understand the tour guide. Yanardag Fire Mountain was another non event. Due to excess gas coming out of the ground, they set the gas on fire so you basically had some flames coming from the soil. Not real exciting. The tour was pretty cheap and lasted most of the day but I felt it was a day wasted. Tour guide was very nice but needs to speak much slower and a tour guide who speaks English better would have helped. Do not recommend this tour.

Everything was perfect, I booked the day before and everything was perfect. They picked me up from the hotel, the bus was clean and modern. The guide was amazing and prepared. The tour was interested, some places were very amazing. I suggest that tour.

A day trip with a lot to offer

I liked Gobustan. They could use boards to make it easier to spot artwork on uneven rocks. The mud volcanos are small in real life, and make a funny bubbly sound. We had lunch quite late, but we stopped at a supermarket on the road before. Lunch was in an all you can eat local food place. Good value for money. The fire temple has descriptions on the religion. And the burning gas looks incredible. Heydar Aliyev Center is a work of Zaha Hadid, really impressive. All in all its a good trip to see attractions out of the city.

The trip was really nice as we got out of the city and could see the surroundings and the small villages on the way. The natural phenomens with mud volcanoes and fire mountains. Gobustans history is also very interesting. Our guide Huseyn spoke really good English and explained everything in a way so that we still remember most of it. He also explained other things related to the lifestyle, culture, etc...

Tour vehicle air conditioning not working. Flies in the vehicle. Tour guide moved too fast. gave explanation before half the group caught up to him. lunch was horrible . took us to a cafeteria. All food was cold and the bathrooms smelled terrible. The long trip to the mud volcanos was ridiculous. Over unpaved dirt roads with continuous potholes. Vehicle constantly rocking back and forth. Fire mountain was a joke. A few small fires at the base of a hill. Waste of time. Do not take this tour

The itinerary was ambitious and the price was very good. The lunch was a great buffet of traditional offerings. My only regret is the guide spoke a broken English and very quickly, so I missed too much. In town, the driver announced he was finished, it was cold and I didn't know the way to walk to my hotel.

It’s perfect! You see everything in one day. The guide Samir was friendly, funny and informative. However, the van was very uncomfortable. Plus, the entrance fees are not included, we had to queue each time to buy tickets.

This is a trip worth taking if you have limited time in Baku and you want to see as much as possible in one day. Otherwise it would be better to split the trip up over 2 days. We went to the Mud Volcanoes first: what an experience! Then we visited the Gobustan State Reserve to see all the rock-paintings. After a divine buffet lunch at a national restaurant only 5.80 p.p. we visited the Fire Temple and the Burning Mountain and on our way back we stopped at the Heydar Aliyev Center, a symbol of modern Azerbaijan. The bus we were traveling in was okay, but for some of us who need more space, the seats are a bit small. It would be great if the tour group would make immediate contact when a booking is made online, either by email or WhatsApp. We made the booking the Thursday and had to walk to the tour group's office on Saturday night as nobody has contacted us by then to arrange for hotel pickup as we have requested online for the next morning, only to hear that we are expected to walk the few hundred meters from the hotel to the office for departure, so I assume the hotel pick-ups are only when you stay outside Baku Old City. This should preferably be communicated ahead of time. But thanks, although administration was not the best, the trip itself was great.

A lot packed into a day trip, made for a long day. The sights were amazing but there was no time to see the museum by the petroglyphs. If you only have one day to explore, this is the tour for you. Otherwise, it is better to break it up into two separate trips - one to the petroglyphs and mud volcano, and one to the fire temple/mountain of fire/Baku center. Be sure to read the fine print of the tour - you are expected to pay for your own ticket at each site that has an entrance fee. Van was very comfortable, our guide was great and spoke excellent English. My only suggestion - the tour company could purchase the entrance tickets to the sites ahead of time and add the cost to the tour. I didn't care to stand in line in very cold weather to buy tickets.

The tour guide told us upfront that we would not be able to see the mud volcanoes due to it raining the previous day. However, the tour guide substituted the mud volcanoes with a visit to a local mosque, which more than sufficed. The driver was professional and polite. The tour guide was very informative and engaging with the tourists on the tour. I would highly recommend this tour for a day trip outside of Baku.

Vi oplevede 5 af de 6 mest besøgt attraktioner på 10 timer - Hvilket var super nemt og interessan! Turen er eksklusiv indgange, hvilket giver en del bøvl med betaling undervejs. Fin guide
