2,5-hour Barcelona City Bike Tour

We had a great time on our ride and were fortunate to mistakenly end up with the electric bikes. Suzie was full of knowledge and more than happy to answer any and all questions we had. We saw more of the city in 3 hours than had we done a traditional bus tour. Highly recommend this tour!

This was a unique way to spend a couple of hours.Barcelona is set up for biking. Our group consisted of 1 senior, 2 adults and 4 children (2 teens, 2 younger). Even the senior in our group was capable of handling this bicycle tour and I say that only because the senior in our group is not in peak physical condition and he has walking/knee issues so this tour was a risky move but he was perfectly fine. The biggest problem was the walk to the bike shop. Unfortunately the meeting location and the bike shop were quite far away from each other. It would have been a better idea to have people meet at the bike shop then arrangements could have been made for a taxi directly to the bike shop. if we had known how far a walk it was from the meeting location to the bike shop, for the sake of the person in our group with the walking/knee issues, we probably would not have booked it for him. On the walk over, one of us remained with this individual while the others hustled ahead. The guide was moving at a very quick pace which, for the rest of us, would have been perfectly fine. Once settled on the bikes, the tour guide was very informative and the bike ride very level. The bikes are not state of the art, brand new tour bikes so be prepared to go retro and check your bike before you leave on tour. During the bike ride there were a couple of minor hills that everyone could handle. It was a nice way to tour. One member of the larger tour group ended up with a flat tire. The guide was quick to give them her bike and rent one from the city ride sharing rentals along the route. However, if anyone else blew a tire or had a flat, I'm not sure how it would have been addressed as only 1 rental is allowed by a single person at a time so the guide could not have rented another bike along the route. We saw some great sights, toured along the ocean, travelled down nice streets all in bicycle lanes. Barcelona has done a great job setting the city up for bicycle travel. It was very hot and by the end of the tour our senior was done so lots of sun hats, sun screen sunglasses and water everyone! General district tour Suitable for all ages (our youngest was 7 our oldest was 73).

The bike tour was ok. Not terrible and not great. The weather was nice and we enjoyed being outside and getting the ‘lay of the land’. But the guide didn’t really share much in the way of history. We walked through the Born neighborhood on the way to the bike shop (not sure why we didn’t meet at the bike shop), and there wasn’t any context given about Born. As the tour continues there were little antidotes shared, but not much information. Also the bikes were old and no helmets were offered or recommended, which seemed odd. To be clear, the bikes worked fine but they appeared old and worn. Also, the guide was quite pleasant. Just not a lot of substance.

My tour was cancelled without notice or email which was quite disappointing. The Sandimans tour operator Adrian Avolio was at the tour start site, called the head office and notified me that there weren't enough people to run the tour that day. They stated I needed to get in contact with viator for a refund. I would appreciate viator's assistance in rectifying this matter asap.

Vera was an absolute gem with her knowledge and recommendations for places to see, visit and eat as well as the history behind certain places. The bike tour itself was relatively easy --save for certain moments when we were passing by a market and that was really haphazard. I didn't think it was the best bike tour I've been on I went on bike tour at every country I travel to but if you just want to kill time and get a feel of Barcelona before you head any place of interest on your own, then I think this is a great way to start your Barcelona visit.

Our tour guide, Yannis, was very entertaining and had good stories of the history and culture of Barcelona. There were plenty of breaks and stops in between for pictures. We give him a 5-star, but unfortunately, the bike rental shop we give a 1-star. First of all, their bike selection was poor with many in need of repair. After our tour, Yannis said there was a restroom to wash our hands yet when we entered, the lady said yes, just go upstairs, then the male with a beard didn't catch his name abruptly yelled, No!! The lady embarrassingly said, sorry, only for bikes. We were shocked as to the unprofessional attitude and poor customer service. Really liked the tour guide, Yannis, but hated the bike shop.

Nice cheap bike tour from Sandemans. Enthusiastic guide with a love of the city. However it did not visit the most interesting parts of the city. Nice to see the park and beach though. The company provided free ponchos as it was chucking down with rain.

This was a amazingly relaxed and informative bike tour we did. Our tour guide Brandon did know a lot about the history and architecture of the places we went to, he did not rush anybody, took the time to explain things on the way and was also interested in the people who joined the tour. If you are planning to go/come to Barcelona I would highly recommend this excellent way to see a part of the city by bike.

We choose this tour to get some exercise and a feel for the city on our first day. It far surpassed our expectations. Our guide Vera was outstanding. We learned so much about the history and grander of the city. I encourage anyone who like to get exercise at a leisurely pace and learn about this wonderful city to take this tour.

Great tour with Jenny! From Arc de Triumf to Barceloneta, via Citadel Park and Poblenou, we had a great 3 hours ride. Jenny, our guide, told us interesting stories and facts about the places we have visited. Riding the bike in Barcelona is quite easy, even the city is full with tourist. If you like cycling, I do recommend to try it. Having Jenny as your guide, for sure it will be a tour to remember.
