Bath Abbey , Bath BA1 1LT, UK

The meeting point is by the main doors to Bath Abbey (by the entrance to Roman Baths).

This activity will end right where it started.
Book your preferred tour option, and meet your guide in central Bath. Then, set off to explore on foot, learning about the UNESCO-listed city and its architecture on route.

Founded by the Romans as a thermal spa and littered with classical treasures, Bath flourished in the 18th century with the development of its honey-stoned, Georgian architecture.

Admire Pulteney Bridge and Gothic Bath Abbey, the coronation site of England’s first king in 973, and then continue to Bath’s showpiece: the Roman Baths.

Pay the entrance fee (depending on option selected) and tour the stunning, column-lined Great Bath and changing rooms, hot pools, and other facilities, all once used for relaxation and socializing by ancient Romans.

See the hot springs, and view the main artifacts in the museum collections, including the famous Minerva’s Head and inscribed stone tablets.

Next, delve into the historical town center to admire its Georgian architecture. See the Pump Rooms and Upper Assembly Rooms, and walk to the world-famous Royal Crescent. Drink in the sumptuous sweep of this 18th-century terrace, and admire the Circus, a circular-shaped terrace formed from curving segments.

After learning about these architectural masterpieces, your tour finishes in the city center.

Great tour, thanks Ellen!
, May 2022
Ellen led an outstanding tour! The weather was not on our side and she was an absolute trooper and kept us laughing. Rich history and beautiful sights !
Good, but awkward ending.

The travel guide (Rachel) was great, and it was her first official tour. You could tell the company trains its people well; Rachel did a fantastic job. She was knowledgeable about the city and various landmarks, and was willing to answer any questions. My only issue with the tour itself was how it ended: the last official stop on the tour was the Royal Crescent. When done there, we were told the tour was over and she would lead us back to the starting mark for those of us who also purchased tickets to the Roman Baths (definitely recommend adding - it was fabulous!) as the entrance was right next to our starting location. While our guide was still friendly and willing to carry on a conversation, there was no more tidbits or interesting buildings pointed out along the way, it felt like we were just a big group tromping through the city together. I don't fault Rachel for this, but think the tour could be rearranged, or maybe something added so it doesn't feel so awkward (i.e. "hey this is the end, but let's still walk together for another 10 minutes while I escort you back to the rendezvous point). Overall, a great tour of city and enjoyed learning more about Bath that I doubt I could have learned on my own.
Must do Bath experience

Had a great time on this tour, so many unknown facts and interesting stories about Bath. Rachel from Footprint Tours was awesome, very knowledgeable, putting passion and fun into the tour that certainly made it memorable.

Roman baths were awe inspiring. Amazing what the Romans built almost 2000 years ago. Very interesting exhibits. Tour of Bath city was somewhat rushed.

So glad we took the plung and visited Bath!
, Apr 2022
My husband and I were so glad that we booked this tour. Our guide was very informative about the area as we walked around town. We were guided through areas that we would have normally just walked past without knowing. After exploring with our small group our guide returned us to our meeting point in order to tour the actual Roman baths on our own with the use of a free audio guide. Lots of places to eat in town after your finished touring. Such a cool historical area that shouldn't be missed!
Ask for Ally!

Fantastic tour! Ally was a brilliant tour guide! Pointed out the finer nuances and details of the historical town.
Memorable visit

Very informative and told with some amusing anecdotes. It is a very beautiful town and very disappointing that the lovely old hospital lies empty when so many of the residents of old contributed so generously to the build.
Friendly, energetic tour

Ellen our guide was very knowledgeable, friendly and full of energy. She happily answered our questions about Bridgerton and Jane Austin. Very personable!
