Departure Point

Long Wharf, Boston, MA 02110, USA
The USS Constitution is the world's oldest commissioned warship afloat and America’s Ship of State — a wooden-hulled, three-masted frigate (a type of heavy warship) of the United States Navy, named by President George Washington after the Constitution of the United States. Launched in 1797, the USS Constitution was one of six original frigates that were authorized for construction by the Naval Act of 1794 and the third one ever built.

The USS Constitution is located inside Boston National Historical Park as part of the Charlestown Navy Yard and part of Boston's Freedom Trail, a 2.5-mile path through downtown Boston that passes by 16 locations that are significant to the history of the United States.

This 45-minute journey visits “Old Ironsides,” with the option to disembark for a tour of the famous ship and USS Constitution Museum. Also on the tour, see Bunker Hill Monument, which was built to commemorate the Battle of Bunker Hill, the first major conflict between British and Patriot forces in the American Revolutionary War; the Boston Tea Party Ships and Museum, a floating history museum with live reenactments, multimedia exhibits and, of course, a tearoom; and Old North Church, Boston's most-visited historical site, where the famous "One if by land, and two if by sea" signal is said to have been sent.

Staff was knowledgeable and friendly. Consistently walked around boat to ensure safety and that everyone had their masks on. Issue is with Viator, booking company. I specifically asked if boat would stop at navy yard where we can hop off and back on. Attendant said yes and he double checked. Boat did not stop, there were no ferries running on weekends and my family ended up walking 1.5 miles to the USS Constitution.

This was my first visit to Boston. The cruise was wonderful. The narrator was very knowledgeable and pleasant. I especially enjoyed exploring and learning about the Fletcher-class destroyer, Cassin Young. Also, an opportunity to "go below deck" which was super cool!

Truly amazing still commissioned ship, manned by current Navy personnel. I would have enjoyed it more if there had been a guided tour, rather than just being able to ask ask questions, when you could get through the crowd to a person. Perhaps a sign up for an in-depth tour for us history buffs? I would be willing to pay for that.

I was expecting to go cruising on...

I was expecting to go cruising on the USS Constitution. This is NOT a cruise on the USS Constitution. This is a cruise on a boat that takes you PAST the USS Constitution, and you can stop at the Charlestown Yard to see some of the activity there and catch the next boat back. Quite misleading.

This was unfortunately one that was...

This was unfortunately one that was very misleading. This is not a cruise on the USS Constitution at all, as the name implies. We rode over on a medium-sized boat to the navy yard and disembarked. The USS Constitution was in dry dock, something this company should know beforehand so they can tell people, oh, but perhaps they do that on purpose because then they might lose sales??? My suggestion, take the 3.25 per person ferry over to the navy yard and see the USS Constitution which is in dry dock until next July and see the USS Cason Young while you are there.
