Take a first-hand look at the food culture of the charming Brooklyn neighborhood of Carroll Gardens during this small-group walking tour of the area's best markets and restaurants. This intriguing neighborhood offers a diverse patchwork of old brownstones, historic Italian eateries, and Middle Eastern food markets for you to discover.

Start your food-themed walking adventure in Brooklyn by meeting your guide at Stinky, an artisanal market located along Smith Street. Continue with your guide on a locals-only exploration of the area's best food spots. During the course of your walk, you have the chance to experience several different tastings, including stops at a Middle Eastern bakery, an Italian coffee house, and a vintage soda fountain, plus much more. As you move between tastings, you also get an overview of the area's history from your guide.

At the conclusion of your tour, head back to Court Street in between Kane and Degraw Streets, where you enjoy convenient access to the nearby subway stop or to taxis.

My daughter and I had a fabulous tour with Brian! We tasted great food, learned so much about the neighborhoods of Brooklyn, and enjoyed the day as locals would- chatting up folks all throughout! Highly recommend this! Oh and we walked away totally full and with good recommendations for the rest of the day and evening! Julie

Not what we expected

We have never done a food tour so maybe this is standard, but we thought we would actually be sitting down in restaurants trying different foods and drinks that reflected the area. Instead we would stand awkwardly in delis and cafes where there was very little space trying to get out of the way of paying customers. The "food" samples included bread, cheese and peanuts which we found odd. The tour also dragged on for 3 hours. There was a lot of standing around and waiting; this tour could have easily been done in half the time. We are big foodies and were really looking forward to this tour, but it ended up being the biggest disappointment of our trip.

Our tour guide, Alex, was very knowledgeable about the various neighborhoods in Brooklyn we visited, as well as the 7 venues we visited to try the local flavors. Our favorite stop was the Farmacy, for an authentic egg cream. We highly recommend this tour.

We covered a lot of ground on the tour and the guide kept us entertained with history in between venues. The tour was well organised and food was waiting for us when we arrived at each stop.

This was a great tour to take on a sunny afternoon in Brooklyn. Our tour guide, Greg, was very informative and a great clear speaker. I and all of my party were full after the tour even with the walking. There was a lot more stops than expected and very generous samples sometimes full size items were given by all the friendly store owners! I will be sure to recommend this to anyone going to NY in the future!
