I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Budapest! Our tour guide Andre was outstanding. He was very knowledgeable, personable and had a great sense of humor. We learned a lot about the history of the city and the gastronomy of Budapest. The amount of food we had was perfect and absolutely delicious!
Lovely time, good food, & great company

My partner and I had an amazing time! Our guide Anna was great and really painted a picture of how Hungary has evolved and overcome many obstacles. We really enjoyed all the food and loved the wine from the Tojak region. Would gladly recommend to anyone wanting an authentic and genuine Hungarian cuisine experience. Can’t wait to go back and grab some bites from some of the places we went later this week.
Lots of yummy food and history

George was an amazing guide. We started at the Market entrance and he greeted us with water and we started our tour. We enjoyed learning the history of the Central Market building and within 15 minutes we were sampling our first Langos (Hungarian Flatbread) which was delicious. We then went floor by floor talking about the local cuisines, sampling pickles and other treats. We then walked to a local restaurant to have an abundant stew, sausage and potato lunch. We went to a local café for desserts and coffee and we finished with an educational and delicious wine tasting. Try to ask for George, he was a great tour guide. Also, I was not feeling well before the tour started and George helped me communicate in the pharmacy to get the right remedy. Thanks again George!

Barbara took us through the Budapest Central Market, sampling as we went. Next we walked to our lunch stop where we had several plates of various Hungarian foods. Then it was on to a pastry shop for cake and coffee. We finished at a wine shop, where we had four Hungarian wines with the appropriate cheeses. Barbara was an excellent guide and a pleasure to be with. We have had food tours in ten European cities, four countries. This was among the best.

Our family of four took the Budapest Culinary & Wine Walk with our guide Lila. We all had a wonderful time. We travel couple of times a year to foreign countries and really enjoy learning about the city and the culture by taking tours. This tour did not disappoint. Our tour guide was very knowledgable, and we tasted an enormous variety of traditional Hungarian food and drinks. We spent a good amount of time at the central market where Lila had us taste Unicum (a traditional Hungarian liquor), langos, salami samplings from a butcher shop, various pickled goods from a pickling store, and finished with Hungarian chocolates. We went next to a butcher shop where we tasted a traditional Hungarian meal consisting of Schnitzel, goulash, fried chicken stuffed chicken, fried cheese and a variety of pickled vegetables (notice the common theme here?? fried and pickled food). We stopped by Central cafe and had dessert and coffee. The tour ended at a wonderful wineshop where we sampled various Hungarian wines and cheese. We are experienced tour connoisseurs and I have to say I have never had such an ample selection of wonderful food. Lila was very knowledgable and very friendly. We all enjoyed her sense of humor and were sad the tour came to an end.

I had a wonderful time on this tour. I traveled to Budapest in 2016 and took this tour for the first time. I had so much fun, I booked the tour again for my second trip to Budapest. My second tour surpassed my first. Our guide Esther was amazing. She is very knowledgeable and filled us in on the history of Budapest and we walked from one location to the next. We sampled amazing food and wine and had a wonderful time. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone looking for a fun and unique way to explore Budapest.

Lots of Food

We enjoyed our 4+ hours spent with Andrea. She had lots of knowledge of the foods and history of the city. We started in the central market with some tastings and then walked around to several different !ovations. Lunch was almost more than I could eat! We finished off with some wine tastings of very nice wines in a nice place.
We perform checks on reviews
You can only submit a review or rating of an experience to Viator if you were the person who made the booking through Viator. Before publication, each review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information for each of the following criteria: who, what, how, and when. If the system detects something that contradicts our publication criteria, the review is not published. When the system detects a problem with a review, it may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site. In some cases, we will also send you an email asking you to validate your review before it is published. All you need to do is click on the link provided in the email. After publication, our team checks each review reported to it as not meeting our publication criteria. Tripadvisor reviews that appear on the Viator site are subject to the same checks and moderation processes as set out above. It is not necessary to have booked an experience through Viator (or Tripadvisor) to submit a review of an experience to the Tripadvisor site.

Sorting, ranking, and search results
Viator wants to make your searches as relevant as possible. That’s why we offer many ways to help you find the right experiences for you.
On some pages, you can select how to sort the results we display and also use filter options to see only those search results that meet your chosen preferences. You’ll see explanations of what those sort options mean when you select them.
You’ll see some experiences with a “Promoted” badge, which means that the operators of those experiences have agreed to pay Viator more to have their experience highlighted.
If you see an Experience Award Winner label, the award is based on average review ratings, share of bookings with a review, and number of bookings through Viator over a 12-month period.
The importance of any one factor over any other in a sort order varies, and the balance is constantly being reviewed and adjusted. We’re always updating our systems and testing new ways to refine and improve your results to make them as relevant as possible to meet your needs.
