Excellent day in Alexandria
, Apr 2021
I thoroughly enjoyed the trip. Mohamed Mahmoud, the guide, was the consummate professional. He ensured I felt comfortable on the trip by answering all my questions, offering water, snacks, and a wifi connection. He’s very knowledgeable and eager to help other. Other tour guides asked for his help at different sites, and he stopped to answer other tourists’ questions. The driver, Medhat, was very skillful and got us back safely. Overall, I recommend the tour.
Pleasant trip to Alexandria

Marwa our guide was a very pleasant and personable guide to have and easy to work with. Her knowledge and guiding could use a bit more indepth description of the areas and sites we visited. The driver however has a lot to be desired. He was quite rash especially on the return trip. Many a times he was looking down to where his cell phone was and reading while driving in heavy traffic. Lucnh was at a nice restaurant that had vegetarion food options as well.

Second ttempt with Let's Explore Eygpt and tbh, the only reason I booked with them again was because all the others were sold out. A good tour I guess if you're travelling with a group. I was solo so had to pay more and I don't feel like what I paid and what was offered matched. Like I didn't feel it was worth what I paid. The tour guide was okay. The library was underwhelming-not sure why it's famous-it's nice yes, but it's a library for crying out loud. I felt like my guide was rushing or maybe not as knowledgeable as other guides, for example, we got to one site after a group and we left before the group- I could hear the other guide really going into detail and taking them all over, not just specific points of interest. I couldn't really understand my guide ( didn't even catch his name) due to his accent (not his problem but mine) and he stayed in Alexandria afterwards and had the driver drive me back to Cairo which I thought was odd. No snacks or water provided like the tour mentioned, definitely no wifi. Not sure why they are presenting the tour with these additions if they are not certain every tour guide is equipped with these niceties.

Pick up from Cairo by guide with air-con comfy vehicle and driver.. straight to Alexandria 2-1/2hrs. Guide Medhat lovely man, English speaking, historical info for sites visited (Library, citadel, temple, harbour, city). Great meal in restaurant overlooking harbour. Should probably have stayed overnight to experience a bit more of city (but my time schedule did not allow) Well organised Let's Explore Egypt...more than happy with your. Next time I would come when it's a bit cooler though... Phew!!!
Worst tour guide ever! Do not bother booking!

This was the worst tour guide I’ve ever experienced! I think his name is MetAhmed (sp). First of all, he slept almost the whole way from Cairo to Alexandria. We spent no more than 20 minutes at each sight and the worst thing was that he made me pay for all of the entrance fees, even though it is included. At lunch, he got into an argument with the waiter because he wanted to take his lunch to go. He kept asking me to post my review and to make sure I included that we were finished at 7, even though that was clearly not the case, as we were done with the whole tour by 1pm. We spent more time in the car than in the actual sites. And then, after visting the library he said he was going home (in Alexandria) and that the driver would be taking me back. The driver Kareem (sp) was incredibly nice and attentive. I only wish I could say the same for the guide. What a complete disappointment, DO NOT waste your money!!
This tour operator is fake. He wants to rip off your money!

Suggestion: dont take any tour with this tour operator. He doesnt respond calls or emails. He makes the tour incomplete. The worst experience i have ever had! And Viator didnt want to refund my money!

Unfortable and not worth it
, Oct 2018
Okay so how should I put this..the experience was made worse by our guide. Alexandria seems to be a beautiful, wonderful place but you need the proper guide. Our guide was late, didn't apologize for it but also the driver was late because he was sent to the wrong hotel. The tour guide apologized for that but proceeded to try to hook up me and my brother with Egyptians. Hey, if we had spent an hour or two getting to know each other this could be funny and fine but within 5 minutes you ask our relationship status...huge flag. Our tour started 45min late, our guide was a script and the only time he became animated was when trying to set up dates. Multiple time throughout the tour he got sidetracked by staring at women or trying to talk to them. We found it mostly funny except that he was inpatient and rushing along. He also seem to not be as knowledgeable about certain things or as caring about things that do not involving finding a girlfriend. During the ride to Alexandria he did very little explaining and even fell asleep, the driver woke fact the driver seem to be incredulous to his behavior the entire trip. I don't do anything I don't want to do or well with underground, tight spaces and heights. So I went as high as I wanted on the citadel and as low as I could in the catacombs but what I saw was beautiful. He kept trying to make me do things or take certain pictures instead of asking if I would like too. Unlike other guides he didn't ask if he could sit with us and instead brought his awkwardness to lunch. I was highly uncomfortable with this trip and confused by some of his actions. Also traffic was horrendous coming back to Cairo and when we were almost there, he told us were going to stop at a perfume and oil place...not "hey would you like to go"...I felt like it was a ruse to get us there to sell us stuff so I told him I wanted to go back to my hotel. It wasn't an okay, instead he said we can get drinks and if you see something you buy it. So we had to tell him no again take us to the hotel. Maybe we had been spoiled but I found this to be my almost worst experience in Egypt.

A truly amazing tour. I got to check a ton of my bucket list with this tour. Catacombs, the pillar, the fort and a big one for me, the library of Alexandria. All this topped off with a delicious lunch at a seafood restaurant overlooking the Mediterranean and all the wonderful sites of the city. I felt like a Pharaoh or Roman emperor with such an amazing experience. My guide, Eraky is a very knowledgeable and interesting man. He has extensive knowledge of the region and its history, while also being able to build up the excitement of the tour over the entire day. I had a fantastic tour and I highly recommend this to anyone looking to check out this amazing city and its sites!

The tour was excellent and my tour...

The tour was excellent and my tour guide Khaled was amazing. He was highly knowledgeable and was able to answer all my questions. He took his time at each place we stopped to discuss the history and significance. He also provided a great deal of information throughout the drive which i really appreciated. The only negative is that when I signed up it said I would be picked up by a minivan and that I would have internet access in the minivan which is one of the reasons I chose this over other tours. I was picked up in a normal 4-door car, which had a good amount of room, but there was no internet access in the car. This was the only misrepresentation.

It would be good to know if a site is going to be closed on the day of the tour. Unfortunately, we went on their x-mas, January 7th. Manar was great and allowed us to visit the local mall since we had extra time.
