Riders are matched with horses based on experience level; riders of all levels can be accommodated. Horses at Rancho Bonanza have been rescued, rehabilitated, and retrained.

Spend the next portion of the tour exploring the jungle, observing and learning about the local flora and fauna as you travel. You also learn about the local practice of making bubblegum from materials found in the peninsula's forest. Once you reach a natural cenote, or limestone sinkhole, dismount for a swim in the cool water. Towels are provided for you, but please bring your swimsuit if you plan on swimming.

Great, Relaxed Experience

This was an awesome experience! It was a small group with lots of covid cleaning and pre-cautions. Our guide Esmerelda was super nice, knowledgeable, and patient. The horseback riding is perfect for beginners because the pace is relatively slow. The cenote is private- no need to worry about crowds! Plus, you are supporting a great cause!

Just the Excursion I Needed!

My trip to Rancho Bonanza was perfect. The day started with a prompt pick up at my hotel. Once at the ranch, we met with the group and the tour guides Alma and Esmeralda. After signing all necessary consents and getting briefed on safety, we began our ride through the Mayan forest and ended the day with a dip in the cenote. The day was perfect and just the right amount of time (although I wish we had more time to spend at the cenote). We learned a few historical facts about Mayan culture and our guides were very friendly and knowledgeable. I'd definitely recommend this excursion

Had an amazing experience!! Alma was extremely welcoming and knowledgeable about more than just the horses! She explained a lot about the culture and we were able to see multiple cenotes and also swim in the large one! We also were able to try organic gum and fresh made honey from her bee hives!! Absolutely would recommend this !!!
