Informational and tasty

This tour started off with a great view and coffee and transitioned to wine tasting where we learned more than any other wine tasting we’ve ever been to. Maria at the wine store was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Nasos (the tour guide) is extremely hospitable, thoughtful, and made our stay in Crete memorable. He was very informational with the tour and the restaurant was very tasty! Come hungry 10/10 tour!
Lovely tour. Great to see...

Lovely tour. Great to see parts of the city via a local and wine and food were great. However would love to do this tour in the late afternoon/early evening when cooler and to be able to enjoy the food more (food was a lot for lunch).
Response from Host , Jun 2022
Dear guests
I was really suprised from your review because the food was too much for lunch?.We never put pressure to our guests to eat and it is much better the food to be more than less. The tour offered from 10am up to 3.00pm and it was your decision to join the tour in the morning. In Greece we eat lunch at 1.30pm-2pm and it is hot. Actually during the tour was 32 of Celcious (90 F). It was not a really hot day! I'm really sorry but I can't understand the meaning of the comments.
Great walking wine and food tour!

A great day of food and wine. Nasos picked me up from my airbnb and we first stopped at a beautiful coffee shop (I can't remember the Greek name but it means Owl) Absolutely incredible views of Chania from this hillside spot. It was a little chilly due to the wind, and Nasos was so kind to run to his home to get jackets for us ladies. I work in the wine industry in Sonoma, so the highlight for me was the wine tasting at the Wine Center of Crete. I don't know much about Greek wines, so it was a delight to taste some of the indigenous varietals. My favorite was the Mandilari red wine. The owner gave us the tasting, she gave us a lot of great information about the wine regions in Crete and other parts of Greece. We ended with a fabulous lunch and I didn't need to eat dinner after all the great food. Wonderful Experience!
Very enjoyable food and wine tour.

Nasos was a super host. We had a thorough but chill tour. The food and wine were great and filling but we never felt rushed. This was a wonderful way to start our stay in Chania. We highly recommend it!
Well worth it!

A must do tour in Crete (Chania)

Our driver was wonderful and there were only four of us. He spoke excellent English and was very passionate about Crete. We stopped at a beautiful café overlooking the Bluewater and sipping coffee and treats. We then headed into the city and the wine tasting was incredibly knowledgeable and wonderful. Then we walk through the tiny streets with all the colorful flowers and beautiful buildings. Lunch was amazing in an open air restaurant. I would highly recommend this tour. Noros is the BEST guide.
Best tour we have ever done

VERY well done. Coffee & ice cream waffle over looking the sea. How to evaluate good wine session. Tour of old town. Incredible lunch tasting in local Greek restaurant. Visit to old local market. History. Perfect day.
lovely evening in Chania

We had a wonderful evening with Nasos and it was a really nice variety of places we visited. We were lucky that he ran it in the evening for us, I think I preferred it to a day time event. We skipped lunch and were still busting at the seams and couldnt finish all our food, so I would say skip breakfast too and come really hungry.
Relaxing morning so enjoyable

Lovely tour of Chania culture

We had a wonderful time not just with the food and wine, but learning about the history and charm of Chania. Nosos has carefully curated his tour to include his favourite coffee shop (with the best view!), restaurants, wine shop with a super knowledgeable sommelier, and picturesque alleyways. It’s nicely paced and he gave us just enough bits of alone time so we could enjoy some of the spots on our own. He is thoughtful and it’s such enjoyable way to jump into a new culture.

This family of five had a beautiful day with Nasos exploring and feasting in Chania. Despite the pandemic restrictions this was the highlight of our trip and Nasos was the perfect guide. All these months later, the food and beauty of Chania are still my kids' favorite part of our trip to Greece. You will not be disappointed by this experience. We cannot wait to return!

Hi Kelly
What a nice surprise! Thank you for your positive review and your kind words. It is difficult to remember your names, but you are a lovely family and I am sure about it. During your wine tasting, I walked to the old part of city with your children and we had an enjoyable time! I don't know if you are still in Europe (Germany) or not but I am sure that you will visit Chania again, even if you are at the USA. My regards to all of you and give a big hug to your princesses. Take Care!

An experience for life!

A wonderfull experience, where we got to know Chania in a exklusive way. Not only did we get to taste the cretan food and wine (whish was delicious!), but we also got to experience Chania from the perspective of the locals, and the history of the city. But what made the experience a memory for life was Nasos, our guide. He made It feel like it wasn’t a regular guided tour, but more like accompanying an old friend to his favorite city. Among other things he took us to his neighborhood cafe with an incredible view of Chania in the morning (a view you don’t want to miss), he also led us through Chania’s old town and its narrow streets. In other words, an experience you simply don’t want to miss. This is an experience we defiently will take home and share with our friends and acquaintances!

Dear Adam, Be (or Bi?), Felicia and Josephine
It was my pleasure to be your guide and I enjoyed the tour as well with your company. I would like to thank you for your kind words and your positive review. Your next time in Chania, will be on a Jeep Safari tour. I wish you to enjoy your time in Crete. Take Care!
Great experience - lots to do in Chania

Nosos, our guide, did a fantastic job and made the tour worthwhile. It starts slow but that is intentional. Nosos wants you to experience what a local Greek would by starting with a cup of coffee and relaxing and enjoying the view. Then you go for a wine tasting with a very knowledgeable wine shop owner. Nosos then takes you to a restaurant where he orders local Greek favorites. There is shopping along the way and you end at the market, where you try Greek donuts with honey. Highly recommend and I would do it again!

This was a fantastic trip to start our Chania holiday! We learnt about the food and wine of the region which meant we made informed choices about local produce throughout the rest of our trip!
Nassos was a great host - mixing information with good humour and moments of privacy so we could enjoy the time together. Maria was very informative and her selections of local wines were impressive and delicious.
A fabulous experience all round that was informative, fun and a great way to start holiday in Crete for anyone interested in local produce and customs.
Great wine experience and Greek food

We started with Greek coffee overlooking the city. A good experience and an amazing view. The wine tasting was very well done - very informative and interesting. The food was at a single restaurant which was comfortable and excellent. The tour is about the wine and food and not about seeing the city.
PERFECT in every way!

We were guests on a cruise ship and therefore had limited time in Chania. We wanted to get a flavor of the local people, traditions, food and wine. This tour hit all the marks. Nasos is a local with ‘inside’ contacts to give his guests an authentic experience, from morning coffee at an ‘off the beaten path’ coffee house atop a hill to wine tasting with a pro, to a magnificent spread of local and traditional foods. The whole tour is at a great pace with some walking, some driving and including time on your own to explore and wander. You also learn some very interesting history about the area and Chania in particular. I would highly recommend this tour.
Loved the food

We always try to do a tour on our first day in a city. This one was perfect!
Nasos met us at our apartment with a snack! Good thing we had not eaten breakfast because it was non stop sites and delicious foods the entire tour. We love getting to know our guides on a personal level when possible and since this tour ended up just being my husband, me and Nasos we felt like we made a new friend in Chania! We highly recommend this tour. Nasos recommended a restaurant and even made the reservation for us
Very enjoyable tour

We really enjoyed our wine and food tasting tour with Nasos. We started the tour in an amazing coffee shop overlooking beautiful Chania, where we had traditional Greek coffee and sweets. We continued with wine tasting (very informative and professionally done), strolling the streets of Chania and had some really good local food. Nasos was an excellent host, he showed us his favorite places and talked about interesting facts. We would recommend this tour to everyone who would like to experience Cretan cuisine and wines.
So much Food....and Wine Too!

Our guide Nasos was great. He met us at our hotel on time and took five of us on a wonderful food and wine tasting tour of Chania. We made three stops for food and one stop to learn about and taste some of the local wines made in Crete. Nasos bought so much food for us to sample that we could not finish it all. We really got a great flavor (no pun intended) of the local cuisine and enjoyed it all. Nasos made us feel like we were his friends. He was knowledgeable and very friendly. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone who has some time to spend in Chania.
