After about one hour, continue to San Thome Church, a Roman Catholic Cathedral originally built by 16th-century Portuguese explorers to mark the tomb of St. Thomas, then rebuilt by the British in 1893 as a Neo-Gothic style church.

Next up, visit Kapaleeshwarar Temple, a beautiful temple built in the 7th century that features a giant gopuram (tower). Take a break to purchase lunch at a local restaurant, then stop into the Government Museum of Chennai, one of the oldest museums in India, with various galleries that contain a variety of natural history and art, and one of the world's finest bronze collections.

6 of us did this tour. The guide was excellent and took us to the main sights in Chennai. The Hindu temple was amazing and the churches very impressive. We also went to Fort Kochi which was interesting. We went to a lovely hotel restaurant for lunch which was a welcome break from the heat. All in all a good tour
