Return Details

Returns to original departure point
Meet a driver at your hotel, port, or at a central location in Cozumel, then transfer to the Playa Mia Grand Beach and Water Park. You’ll be assigned a cooking class start time upon arrival, then have free time to enjoy the park facilities before and after the class.

When it’s time to hit the kitchen, a chef will guide you through each step of preparing a three-course Mexican meal, with an appetizer, main dish, and dessert. The menu changes with availability of the freshest ingredients, but a recent class featured thick corn tortillas with shrimp al diablo, a fish filet with vegetables and tamarind sauce, and caramelized plantains topped with a bitter chocolate and tequila sauce. An open bar is available during the cooking class, and when the meal is ready, you’ll enjoy what you’ve cooked in an oceanfront dining room.

The Playa Mia Grand Beach and Water Park offers fine beaches, a Floating Park, a kid’s area, and waterslides, along with equipment including kayaks, paddle boats, Hobie Cat sailboats, floating mats, and hammocks. This cooking class and water park experience concludes with return transfer to your original departure point in Cozumel.

We had a great time.

We had a great time and actually learned something. The only complaint is that our class started about 25 minutes later than what they told us. The location is a very nice and expansive complex with a beach, pool, bars, restaurants, etc.

The tour was fabulous. We had a great cooking experience with Moises. He was cordial informative and had a very good use of English. He explained the preparation and cooking processes with detailed instructions and demonstrated techniques so we all completed the recipes to look professional. The food prep was all placed in easily accessed locations that were out of the way. Each person had a cooking station to share with a partner and portions were prepared for two. Additionally we had access to unlimited drinks, beach and pool facilities for two additional hours. Well worth the price. I would do it again!

Always A Fun Experience

We have been to the Original Mexican Cooking Class a number of times on previous cruises and were very excited to take my mother and brother. The experience was every bit as good this time as it was in the past. They are doing some renovation work, so the cooking was outside as opposed to the normal location, but that did not prevent us from having a very fun experience. The food is very tasty and the chefs are just fun to be around and they love to interact and keep the mood light. Love this place and will certainly return.

Incredible experience and cooking class! Me and my husband took this class and loved it. The chef (Chef Luis) was very friendly, funny and taught us some great techniques. The food was delicious and the venue was great. It overlooked the beach and was very spacious allowing for participation of everyone in the class. We also had amazing drinks and overall really enjoyed this. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Playa Mia Beach Club.
