This activity includes roundtrip transfer from your hotel, apartment or your house.

Depart from Cusco in the morning, with pickup from your hotel and a transfer from the city center to your train station. Your departure location and travel experience depend on the seating option you’ve selected. Guests can choose from the Expedition train—the Vistadome, with glass on all sides for better viewing—or the Executive Class with comfortable seats.

Then enjoy a scenic train ride, offering stunning views of the mountainous terrain that makes up the area near Machu Picchu.

Arrive in Aguas Calientes, the small village located at the base of this famous Inca site, and board a bus for the short ride to this sacred citadel. Completed around 1450, when the Inca Empire was at the peak of its power and influence, the site was left vacant within 100 years of its creation, thanks to the conquest of the Inca people by the Spanish. Though the site today remains abandoned, many believe Machu Picchu to be a key center of spiritual energy.

Follow your guide through the main streets of this marvel of ancient engineering. Learn about the site’s history and design as you meander through its town square, key religious sites, an elaborate network of agricultural terraces, and intricately-designed stone staircases.

After spending a few hours at the site, return by bus to the train station in Aguas Calientes and then to your chosen train for the trip back to Cusco.

IMPORTANT: Your passport details are needed for the Machu Picchu Day Trip (Full name and Passport ID). Please provide your passport details in the additional request box, otherwise the tour is notconfirmed.

This experience was more than expected. The transportation was smooth and we were lucky to get to ride the train all the way from Cusco rather than the bus to Ollentambo (sp). Anna was our guide at Machu Picchu and not only did she have great knowledge to share but also was a fabulous photographer with my camera. Highlight of our trip by far, and we are loving Peru.

The trip to Machu Picchu was very well organized, and I was greeted by staff at each step of the way. I was traveling alone and booking through Viator made me feel safe. My tour guide Jaime was AMAZING. So knowledgeable and funny!! He was also very kind and helpful with questions. You can tell he enjoys it just as much as you. Highly recommend him in the future!!

Unreal. Magical. Unforgettable.

I had a magical experience from start to finish. Marleny from Viajes Pacificos picked me up at my hotel and gave me my tickets and instructions for the day. She even went the extra EXTRA mile and helped me via WhatsApp with an unrelated excursion/question. I didn't expect to travel on the train alone but the directions Marleny gave me were thorough and I could always ask a PeruRail employee a question if I had any confusion. When I arrived at Aguas Calientes, my tour guide Ludo was there waiting for me. We rode the bus up to the summit and he was extremely patient with my pace. I didn't feel rushed and the information he gave me during our tour of Machu Picchu was priceless. He was happy to take any and all pictures I desired. He even recommended a restaurant with a beautiful view of AC after the hike. I am super grateful for the employees at Viajes Pacificos. I couldn't have explored the places I wanted to see in Cusco without them!
Great Tour with Great People
, Jun 2021
The train ride to Machu Picchu is 3 hours and they did not serve drinks or food so definitely eat or drink something before you start your trip. The tour itself was fantastic. Johnny our guide was so knowledgeable and took all kinds of cool pics of everyone. He was truly a gem. We came on a great day with clear skies, sunny weather, and it was not crowded at all. The only thing that sucks is that they do have masks monitors everywhere so they are very strict on their Covid Policies at Machu Picchu. Other than that we enjoyed this tour a lot and it helped that we were with 4 other people who made the trip even better!

Highlight of Our Trip!
, Jun 2021
This excursion was worth the money! The tour company organizes all of your tickets for the buses and train to get to Machu Picchu! They had someone meet us outside of the train station and escort us to the bus that took us to the park entrance where our tour guide was waiting for us. Our tour guide Lubi was amazing! He was so patient while we hiked up the hill to get to the lookout point and let us take breaks when we were tired. He was so passionate about sharing the Incan culture and answered all of our questions so we could better understand the Incan city. I highly recommend going with the tour company to organize your trip because we had to take 4 busses and 2 trains round trip from Cusco. Having the tour guide in Machu Picchu added so much value to our day instead of walking around ourselves and not knowing the history of what we were looking at. 10/10 would recommend!
Loved it!
