Informative and entertaining

I had so much fun on this informative and entertaining pub tour. The guides / actors are absolutely outstanding!! As travel restrictions started to kick in that night, I'm particularly thankful that the tour was not cancelled despite the low number of participants. Social distancing was observed at all times, very responsible.

Great Mix and Worth It

This pub crawl was so much fun! The actors/guides made it amazing and there was a surprise bonus quiz at the end of the night making this a great mix of walking tour, history, pub crawl, show and trivia. I even went on this crawl solo and walked out meeting so many people. Would definitely recommend or do again.

AVOID!!! Refund demanded and not received.

I made my way to the upstairs bar punctually and searched around in vain for any evidence of this event existing - no tour guide, no umbrella etc. I called - no answer. I emailed - no reply. I have either been completely ripped off or discourteously treated in the extreme by lack of communication given that this FICTIONAL event didn’t happen. Refund optimistically expected. AVOID.

We start upstairs at the DUKE pub. Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in winter. It's all clearly marked on our website and on our brochure. Nobody contacted me for a refund in the last while. We don't use an umbrella in the pub! We have two signs downstairs and another upstairs outside the room where we begin. When was 'Discov' booked to join us? What pub did he go to? If he was confused, did he not think to ask a barman where the tour starts? I mean: is this for real? I'm just back to work today after the holiday. There were a couple of people over Christmas who have requested refunds because their flights were cancelled. But that happens and they had no problem contacting us by email to say so. The only fiction about this tour for the last 31 years is the books we delve into by the authors. If we were discourteous to people in all that time we just would not be in business. Pls have a read through what others are saying and I think you will get a real picture of what we do. I hope you can join us. COLM

Fun literary evening in Dublin

Enjoyed a lovely evening out during Christmastime in Dublin with Irish verse and Guinness (or Murphy’s which I’m not allowed to admit to in Dublin). We greatly enjoyed the performances and tour but wish it were in a chronologically logical order - hard to follow. Still, highly encourage the outing to whet the literary appetite.

We had a great time at the bar crawl. I have never been the biggest fan of Irish literature but we had a really funny evening with our guides.

While there were moments of real pleasure, few of Ireland's real masters were included and there were few quotes and stories about and from them.

Great night with interesting and talented leaders for our crawl plus great pubs to visit. The actors were excellent in their knowledge and ability to do parts from plays and pertinent books. Kept our interest and entertained!!

We went on the Dublin Literary Pub Crawl yesterday. Thoroughly recommend it. Great fun. Our guides (Derek and Frank I think, sorry if not the correct names) were extremely knowledgeable, engaging and entertaining. The acting was splendid and the after quiz was not at all like an exam! Just a bit more fun. Thanks for a great evening boys. Glad the weather remained dry.

This did not have the literary elements I was expecting. I would have liked more information as we were in the pubs and less acting. I think the groups are just too large.

Just to clarify...there are just two pub stops to get a drink and look for clues on the quiz. Private visit to Trinity College (included in the price). That's all literary mixed in with the actors. This is a tour led by actors for 31 years. We do exactly what we say on the brochure: we talk about the pub, the poet and the pint. And you get time to sample a beer along the way. I hope you can join us COLM
