Great Trip. We got to see incredible landscapes - there was plenty of time to do the hike - It might have been great to drop people off going to Kyllmore Abbey First - so you actually get to see the beautiful building from closer up even when you choose the hike. The driver was nice and safe and alle safety measures regarding coven in place. We would definitely recommend the tour!
Connemaara guided (Gerry) tour

The most memorial part of the trip had to be Kylemore Abbey closely followed by our driver/guide Gerry who was fantastic with his wit and great knowledge of the area, he made the tour so much better . The landscape of connemara is ever changing but always breathtakinly beautiful . We are so happy we took this tour
Bad tour operator

The Connemara landscapes are wonderful and the Abbey is beautiful.
However, I don't recommend this tour operator at all, it's the worst ever. At some stage of the trip they ask you whether you want to go to visit the national park which is free or the Kylemore Abbey which is 10€. But they try to convince you to visit the Abbey. It was raining so we preferred visiting the Abbey. There you can't book your ticket by yourself. The driver takes the money from everyone and buys the tickets for you. My mother has special needs and a card that proves it. Although the Abbey applied a special tarification in this case, we had to pay full price to the driver. He said to contact Viator to get a refund, which I did but they refused.
Not to mention there was a couple with a kid that chose to visit the national park. They couldn't make it in time till the meeting point because of the rain. The driver simply decided to abandon them there in the middle of nowhere and leave without them after only 5 minutes.
Choose another tour operator. This one only care about money.

Good morning. Thank you for taking the time to review our tour. I'm sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your day with us. Just a couple of points in relation to your review which need to be corrected. You are correct that on our Connemara Day Tour you get a choice of either a 3 hour stop in the Connemara National Park or a 3 hour stop in the Kylemore Abbey. It is the driver / guides responsibility to point out that the Connemara National Park is free and that we have an agreed discounted rate of €10.00 per person on the tour vehicle for those wishing to visit the Kylemore Abbey. In relation to the special disability rate for Kylemore Abbey, I was unaware of this arrangement and so too was our driver. I've looked into this on their website, www.kylemoreabbey.com and was unable to find any information on it there. So, I contacted the Abbey personally and yes you are correct they do offer a disability rate but you have to book directly with them. In relation to the people left behind at the Connemara National Park, I was actually talking to them on the day on a number of occasions. They fully understood that they were given 3 hours in the Connemara National Park and when they first contacted me they knew that they were going to be 10 minutes late at the rendezvous point. The driver waited for more than 10 minutes but had to depart in order to get back on schedule. Not that it's any of your business, but by the time they finally reached the rendezvous point they were 45 minutes late. I know because I assisted them in getting back to Galway. I'd like to point out the irony of your review while I'm at it. You say that we 'only care about the money' yet you went to the trouble of giving a bad review because of a 50% discount on a €10.00 ticket? Do the maths!

Gerry, the driver and guide was really kind and helpful.
But we didn’t spend a lot of time in the Connemara National Park (we had only 2 hours to eat and visit the park which needs 2h30 normally)
Furthermore we stopped in places which were not really interesting whereas we could spend more time in the principal activity.

I enjoyed of the trip: it was full of pleasant emotions, because we saw the magnificent hills surrounded with calm lakes. From the distance and closer we saw the ocean coast and it was wonderful!
Our experienced driver tried to show us the most picturesque views of our trip!
Thanks a lot!

The Connemara area is just absolutely stunning and there's truly nothing like it anywhere else. Our bus driver, Mike, was excellent. He gave shared a lot of history of the area and how it's being protected today. He also made several stops for us to get out and take pictures. We opted to go to Kylemore Abbey because of the rainy weather. The abbey, church, and extensive gardens were quite beautiful. This was also where we had lunch and the lunch was quite good. I highly recommend this tour from Galway!

Our tour guide Jerry was knowledgeable, entertaining, pleasant and made our day trip to Connemara & the Kylemore Abbey a day we will never forget. The path that he took and the pictures we captured were of some of Ireland's most beautiful scenes. The six of us will always remember our day with Jerry & his singing voice and jokes were also very good.

Bus Was Terrible
Susan_O
, Aug 2019
I really wish I could give this tour a better rating, because the scenery was beautiful, the places we stopped were interesting, and the guide was very knowledgeable. However, the bus was so horrible that I could never recommend it. Picture the amount of room you have in an airline seat, then divide that by half. I'm 5'8" tall, and my knees were jammed into the seat in front of me. I was sitting on the aisle, and I basically spent the entire time twisted in strange contortions, with one or two legs hanging into the aisle, trying to find a comfortable position. My son, who is 6'2", was also on the aisle and was equally miserable. The two people we were sitting next to, in the window seats, were also contorted. I can't even begin to describe how uncomfortable it was. At one point, my mom (who is 5'4"), moved her body from right to left. Her knee banged into the seat in front of her so hard that it ripped the skin off her knee through her pants. I had to get a first aid kit from the driver at the next stop, because the blood was soaking through her pants and dripping down in into her socks. In addition, we met the bus at the meeting point rather than being picked up at our hotel like the other riders, and by that time the bus was basically full so we couldn't get four seats together. The kids in the seat next to us talked LOUDLY the entire time, having zero interest in what the guide was saying over the intercom system. Because this was a group tour, there was zero flexibility in how long we stayed at each stop. I don't usually book group tours, but I made an exception for this one due to the excellent review. I wish I hadn't. This was a physically miserable day for all of us.
Response from Host , Aug 2019
I'm sorry to hear about your mother's injury, this is the first time I've heard of something like this happening on one of our vehicles.
Incidently, all our vehicles are subject to a quarterly inspection and a full annual inspection to ensure they comply with Irish roadworthness and safety standards.
All equipment, including the first aid kit, is inspected at these intervals.
I do think think you're 100% right though, group tours are not for you. We also offer private chaufeur tours starting at €450.00 per day.

Booked this trip after reading past reviews and wasn't disappointed. Our driver Gerry was outstanding, knowledgable, witty and very friendly. He always asked us to speak up if we wished to stop which was much appreciated. The tour was on a smaller bus with only about 20 people and it felt like a personal tour. Shout out to Gerry!
We perform checks on reviews
You can only submit a review or rating of an experience to Viator if you were the person who made the booking through Viator. Before publication, each review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information for each of the following criteria: who, what, how, and when. If the system detects something that contradicts our publication criteria, the review is not published. When the system detects a problem with a review, it may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site. In some cases, we will also send you an email asking you to validate your review before it is published. All you need to do is click on the link provided in the email. After publication, our team checks each review reported to it as not meeting our publication criteria. Tripadvisor reviews that appear on the Viator site are subject to the same checks and moderation processes as set out above. It is not necessary to have booked an experience through Viator (or Tripadvisor) to submit a review of an experience to the Tripadvisor site.
