Return Details

Returns to original departure point
Your day trip from Hobart starts with the approximate 1.5-hour drive by coach to the Tasman Peninsula, during which your guide will point out sights and provide commentary. Stop for morning tea, and then embark on your 3-hour cruise, taking in the stunning coastline of Tasman National Park.

Stare up at some of Australia’s tallest sea cliffs, enter deep sea caves, spot the lighthouse that guards Storm Bay, and keep your eyes open for seals and dolphins. With the boat’s covered open-air seating, you’ll have great viewing opportunities of the sea and shore.

When you return to land, enjoy lunch before spending the afternoon on a tour with your guide to peninsula attractions such as Remarkable Cave, the Federation Chocolate Factory and Port Arthur lavender Farm (alternatively, upgrade your ticket to include either the Tasmanian Devil Conservation Park or Port Arthur Historic Site instead). Your day trip ends with the drive back to Hobart.

Upgrade Sightseeing Options

You can’t see everything in one day, but you can try! Customize the sightseeing to suit you. Instead of visiting local attractions like Remarkable Cave, Federation Chocolate Factory and Port Arthur lavender Farm you can choose one of these upgrade options:

Tasmanian Devil Conservation Park:

Get an up-close look at these iconic Australian animals at this wildlife center that features a free-flight bird show and a chance to watch feeding time for the Tasmanian devils.

Port Arthur Historic Site:

This former penal colony, part of the Australian Convict Sites UNESCO World Heritage site, is home to several old structures and ruins that were once home to prisoners, officers and guards. You have three hours to spend here learning about Australia’s penal history amid the landscaped grounds.

Great day out. The guides were so personable and made everyone feel at ease. (Thanks guys!) Enjoyed seeing the wildlife...dolphins, lots of seals and birdlife on and around the water. The Unzoo option meant seeing more Australian animals in a natural setting. The Kangaroos were the most tame I have ever seen...you could go right up to them and pat them! (Don't try this in the wild though!) It was lovely to meet and talk to others from places near and far.

Great trip

We started the day at the offices and were soon sorted into tours and headed off on a bus to theTasman Peninsula. The tour guide was great, giving us little bits of information as we went along. We then went for a lovely morning tea and then got on the boat. The boat trip was fantastic. Very cold and windy - so rug up! They give you a raincoat thing, but it doesn’t provide warmth, just splash and some wind protection. We got to see seals, cormorants and the beautifully rugged coastline and very close up - Some caves we almost went into! We then went onto Port Arthur, where we had lunch and then some time to look around. We only got about 2 1/2 hours all up there, so it wasn’t long enough to thoroughly explore the site, but that’s to be expected on a tour like this. We then drive back to Hobart. All in all the tour was a fabulous day out and I’d recommend it to anyone!

An Adventure Day

Really great tour with a bit of everything. We did the tour with the added Tasmanian Devil Park. All the staff and tour guides were great, friendly and knowledgeable. We were one of the luck few who got to experience the 'One Way Trip' on the cruise. Saw seals, dolphins and amazing sea caves. Be aware that if you experience the One Way Trip, be prepared for a rough ride on the waves. I would still highly recommend this tour as it's so much fun, but if your not up for a wild ride, stay up the back of the boat. The Tasmanian Devil Park was a nice change of pace after the boat adventure, with lovely animal info sessions and Tazzie Devils! All in all, a varied fun day out. Well worth it!

Highly recommended. The Tasman coastline is breathtaking with it's high cliffs, caves and wildlife. Tim and Angie were fantastic in getting the boat very close to the rock edges and provided interesting and insightful information. We saw many dolphins that followed the boat, large groups of seals on rock ledges, and many types of birds including albatross and eagles. The boat itself is purpose built for this use and was very new and comfortable. Jill and Paul Canada
