It was interesting doing the cruise in the wet season. Very beautiful. I look forward to doing the cruise again in the dry for comparison. We still saw a couple of crocs and birds nesting and the tour guide was very knowledgeable as well as entertaining.

The guide (Dennis) knew his stuff, spoke from an indigenous perspective and used a soft humour to engage with those on the boat. The scenery was stunning, alive, soaked with water from recent rainfall. The wildlife - crocodiles, a range of water birds and eagles - was plentiful and apparently unconcerned by us.

The yellow water cruise is a kakadu must do. We did our 4th cruise recently, this time in wet season. The best time to go is the dry but still we love the relaxing 2 hours on the billabongs near Cooinda. We stayed in a clamping tent and woke early to view sunrise at this fantastic location.

The scenery, the cool overcast wet season day and the cheerful, informative guide. I took the cruise with a wheelchair passenger and although the ramp onto the boat wasn't wide enough for the chair, the guide did his best to accommodate us.
