We spent over 3 hours...

We spent over 3 hours queuing at the ports. By the time we got to Samos there wasn’t much to do because the majority of shops closed at 2:30pm.

Great day highly recommend

We went as a couple in May 2022, got to the port at 8am and collected our tickets from the office by redeeming our booking voucher, changed our money to euros and sat in the cafe waiting for the departure gate to open at 8.30am. We were sat with all the tour guides meeting up for a cruise ship that was going to Ephesis for the day. 8.30am they opened and was only 15 of us on the boat so hardly any que but they were very slow and definitely not in a rush so can understand the poor reviews on this. We didn’t set off until 9.15am but it’s a busy port with cruise ships so understandable. Beautiful ride over seeing the coast of Turkey and Samos. We went on a Monday so was at Vathy port, again passport control was somewhat slow but as only a few us no problem. Got told off for not having masks when we entered the passport office but no sign of masks after that the rest of our time on the island. We headed straight for Aramis car hire opposite the port and rented a little suzuki for two drivers €30 was very easy and quick, others rented scooters for €20 but needed a motorbike license. We headed out to a few different bays which were all so different, beautiful, quaint and secluded. First we did Kokkari, one beach was very windy and round the corner was the most beautiful bay of restaurants secluded from the wind. Second we did Lemonakia which was windy again but beautiful, then Tsamaeou there is a beach bar there called Navagos which we highly recommend food, views and service were beautiful we didn’t want to leave. Then lastly we did Psili Ammos which was on the otherside of the island but only half an hour and meant we saw different torrain, Turkey is swimminh distance at this beach and beautiful views with a few boats mored up. Then we headed back to drop the car off (no hassle no dramas) had a drink in Vathy before boarding (at 4.30pm it departed 4.52pm 8 mins ahead of schedule). Was a beautiful day highly recommend. The ferry itself was great staff great, views great and Samos very different to Turkey so really did feel a days holiday in a holiday

The actual ferry is good but waiting times for boarding and disembarking are very long and can be unpleasant.

Dear mcgrat, We are sorry that you had to wait in embarkation and disembarkation line for a while that was due to the busy national holiday time. We hope to see you on another Kusadasi/Samos trip. All the best, Ozge

Selling tickets for a boat that does not run! We had a lot of trouble by this, the mistake of Viator cost us a lot of money. No response on complaints. NEVER AGAIN!!!!

Samos is a small Greek Island, once...

Samos is a small Greek Island, once we got there we rented a car and drove around the island is very small so you have time to do that stop in one of the beaches eat lunch and drive back. Make sure you pay attention to the road because not all the streets are two ways and you might get lost,we did. Fun Day though.

Empfehlenswert!
