The best part was stopping for homemade ice cream and feeding the goats on the farm. Everything was amazing.

Yay! Wendy, it sounds like you had a wonderful day on the farm and out in the countryside. Goats and ice cream really do make for an excellent day.

Was a scenic tour but too commercialized

Driver was nice not too informative . Other than pointing out that the horse and buggy was Amish and this house was Amish . Found this whole Amish experience to be too commercialized . Most of the so called Amish use electric in some form , cut grass with gas powered machines , use freezers for storing food and power equipment for woodworking . This was a mix of Mennonite and non Mennonite . I personally think Holmes county in Ohio is so much more authentic .

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. Lancaster is the site of the original Amish settlement (the Holmes County Amish originated here) and it is still the largest group of Old Order Amish. Many of them today have small cottage industries. They are exploring the use of alternate energy sources for their businesses but the home remains a peaceful retreat from the modern world. " They live in our world but they are not of this world." And that delicate balance is what makes their culture so fascinating to visitors. Thanks!

Unable to participate. Social distancing was not observed with religious families in their own pods. Can you help with a refund please? (Second request.)
icon Response from Host , Apr 2021
Hi Halina, We did refund you. As your booking was completed via TripAdvisor, it might have taken longer than expected. Please check with Viator/your bank. We did have full social distancing rules in place when you visited and we were happy to accommodate you.

A good introduction to the Amish way of life

Very much enjoyed the drive around the Amish countryside with knowledgeable narration. I’m vaccinated against Covid. Otherwise I would not have gotten on the bus. There were too many people for those who are not vaccinated to safely travel, even though everyone was required to wear masks.

Thank you so much Vivien, so happy to hear you enjoyed visiting the Amish Countryside and the Amish stores along the way.

Can there be a beautiful way to start the day than with a horse and buggy ride through the bucolic setting? With morning coffee in hand we enjoyed the sights and sounds of springtime around Amish neighborhoods and backroads. It was simply perfect.

Why thank you! There's no better way to start off your day than in a buggy. We hope you find your way back to Amish Country soon- the summer season is quickly approaching and that means so many fresh fruits and vegetables!

Relaxing afternoon
Georgie_T

This three-part tour was a fun afternoon. First, we checked in and visited the gift shop at the Amish house and farm, but our minibus was ready to leave, so we hopped on and were driven around the area - we stopped at a quilt shop and a farm stand - don't miss the homemade pretzels...to die for. Back at the farmhouse, we took a 15 min tour of the farmhouse and were free to roam the outside farm area. It was a relaxing fun afternoon. We learned a lot about the Amish culture.

Thank you so much! You had Ann as your bus driver, and she is indeed fabulous. The soft pretzels are not to be missed! We hope you make a return trip soon- you know you can't go long without pretzels.

A very informative afternoon of mild adventure.

The country side tour was very pleasant & informative. The driver was personable & warm. The two separate location stops, were great fun. Recommend A+++ The house tour, was enjoyable, albeit limited & short. Jamie, our guide, makes the best of it with her congenial energy & humor. I strongly feel, the actual house tour, should be expanded in some form, or price reduced. No regrets, though. We very much enjoyed the experience.
