  • Choose an easy, moderate, or difficult guided hike among the red rock formations and petroglyphs

Depending upon which option you choose, this Valley of Fire hiking tour either leaves Las Vegas at sunrise, or later in the day in the late morning or early afternoon. Once you meet with the rest of your group, which won’t exceed 13 people, leave the lights of Vegas behind and begin to commune with nature, as you travel out into the wide-open desert.

Along the drive, make a stop at the Moapa Indian Reservation to pick up some fireworks, liquor, or cigarettes that are completely duty-free.

When you enter the Valley of Fire State Park, your guide explains the area’s history as well as its fascinating geology, and leads you to the trailhead of whichever hike you’ve chosen.

Over the course of the trek through the park, learn about the erosion and seismic fault lines that have created the rugged terrain, all while surrounded by a surreal landscape of enormous, deeply red rocks. For thousands of years, Native American-Indian tribes have lived and survived in this landscape, and your guide offers some fascinating insight to their legends, history, and myths, as well as point out some ancient petroglyphs that have been here for 3,000 years.

Water and snacks are provided for the hike, and once you’ve conquered the dusty trail and soaked up the epic beauty, you have the chance to explore the Valley of Fire official visitors center. On the car ride back to Las Vegas, rest your legs and watch the scene slowly change outside the window, as the windswept desert slowly gives to the glitz, glamor, and lights.

Yvette was an amazing guide. She provided options to personalize the hike dependent on the desires of the group. She was knowledgeable about the flora and knew the best spots for photos. She had plenty of fluids, snacks and cooling towels!! I recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see the natural beauty that is so close to the madness of the Las Vegas strip.

Trip is listed as hiking. We did about 1.5 mile of slow walking on mostly flat path. Valley is beautiful, but trip was too short. We were back in the hotel by 11 AM. This company has no idea what hiking means

My husband and I booked a moderate hike and had Mason as our guide. Mason was amazing! Great personality, funny and very knowledgeable of the area and the plant & animal life. We also got to see quite a few big horned sheep and numerous petroglyphs. We were instantly at ease and had a small group of 5. We ended up doing 2 shorter hikes instead of 1 long one so we could see both sides of the valley of fire. What an amazing experience!! If you’re on the fence just do it, you will not regret it!! He provided plenty of waters, Gatorade and snacks. Pick up was timely @6 am and by the time we picked up the 3 others along the way, made bathroom stops and got to the valley of fire to start hiking it was about 0730, we finished about 1030 and stopped at a gas station/store outside of town (which was way less expensive than the strip) we were dropped off at our hotel just before noon which was perfect!

This was an incredible experience. Our tour guide Monet was wonderful and friendly. She provided snacks, helped us take pictures, and gave us lots of information about the area. We did the moderate hike through Valley of Fire and the views were spectacular. P.s we did the 6 am hike and I am glad we chose the early one. Go with the early hike unless you want the experience of feeling like your cooking in an oven. 😅
