Depart your central London hotel by air-conditioned coach, and enjoy a panoramic sightseeing tour. Have your camera ready as you pass some of London’s major landmarks, including Westminster Abbey, the Tower of London, Big Ben and others.

Next, drive to Oxford for a stroll around this ancient university town. Pass the honey-hued stone colleges, including Christ Church, where Lewis Carroll wrote his much-loved Alice in Wonderland stories and many scenes from the Harry Potter movies were shot.

View the sublime 18th-century Radcliffe Camera building and The Ashmolean, Oxford University's museum of art and archaeology, and hear tales of the traditions of college life from your guide.

Next, admire the gentle English countryside as you drive into the Cotswolds, a region of rolling hills dotted with stone-built villages, manor houses and churches. Hear how medieval wool merchants constructed the classic Cotswolds buildings, and stop for photos outside Blenheim Palace, the 18th-century estate where Winston Churchill was born in 1874.

Next, make your way to a traditional Cotswolds pub for your Christmas lunch. Settle inside the cozy Elizabethan inn and savor a traditionally English roast turkey with all the trimmings, followed by rich Christmas pudding and tea or coffee.

Nearby, the local festivities will spring to life, and if you’ve brought some Christmas gifts, the pub offers an atmospheric setting for sharing them. Perhaps finish by treating yourself to a real ale or wine (own expense), and then continue to Stratford-upon-Avon, where William Shakespeare was born.

Pass Anne Hathaway’s cottage before arriving in this quaint market town, and pose for photos outside Shakespeare’s birthplace or stroll around Holy Trinity Church, where the great playwright is buried.

Your tour finishes with a hotel drop-off in London.

A fantastic Christmas Day in the English countryside!
, Dec 2020
We loved everything about our Christmas Day tour of the Cotswolds! Our guide was fantastic, our bus worked out well (we had a front row seat on the top with a panoramic view!), and the stops were wonderful. The guide did a great job getting the necessities in (like bathroom breaks) as well as making decisions and being flexible with opportunities and needs along the way.

We weren't able to go to this specific tour because there was no public transportation or cabs available on Christmas morning. However, the tour provider was kind enough to allow us to change this tour for a tour of the Cotswolds on December 26. The tour was great, and the Cotswolds are beautiful!

My family and I enjoyed the tour. The food was better than we expected. The tour guide was professional and gave good information on Oxford and Stratford upon Avon. Really a pleasant experience on Christmas Day when all transport and shops were shut down.

Well Well Well! To start with the tour guide was as sour as. If you don't want to work on Christmas day then don't! The bus driver however was fantastic, such a nice woman. Lunch on the Cotswolds at a quaint little pub was non existent! Lunch was had in a 1970 extension off the side of a 16th century pub in Stratford and the meal and surrounding were absolutely terrible!! I definitely would not recommend this tour. It ruined our Christmas. Cant tell you enough how bad the lunch was.

A wonderful way to celebrate CHRISTMAS. Our guide was excellent and soooo knowledgeable and, in the end, even our driver seemed to enjoy the tour. Our CHRISTMAS dinner couldn't have been more traditional or more delicious, or held in a more picturesque setting than Stratford-on-Avon. Oxford was amazing with its old buildings and could picture the scholars dashing from class to class. An inspiring day just driving through the Cotswolds enjoying the tiny villages with their thatched roof cottages.
