Explore the unique desert landscapes, unexpected city sights and plentiful shopping available in Palm Springs during this full-day trip. It’s a fun chance to get away from the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles and explore the slower pace of life and wealth of amenities available in this desert city.

Begin your Palm Springs trip in the morning from either the Los Angeles Farmer’s Market or the Four Points by Sheraton in Culver City. Settle in to your seat on the air-conditioned coach that will drive you the 120 miles (193 kilometers) east out of the city of Palm Springs.

You’ll start your day in this desert town with a guided sightseeing trip, covering local landmarks including the city’s many golf courses and the one-time homes of celebrities like Marilyn Monroe, Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley and Barbara Streisand. Continue next to the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. This sky-high attraction ascends nearly 6,000 feet (1,828 meters) from the desert floor, providing stunning aerial views of Palm Springs and near-vertical cliffs of nearby Chino Canyon.

After your time above the city on the Tramway, proceed to the Living Desert Zoo and Gardens, a public zoo and botanical garden that provides insight into the wild diversity of life that inhabits the world’s driest places. Observe animals including mountain lions, coyotes, giraffes and zebras, plus less well-known creatures like the Fennec fox, which uses its uncharacteristically large ears to help cool down.

Climb back on board your coach after the zoo and gardens, heading to El Paseo. This upscale street, known by many locals as the “Rodeo Drive” of Palm Desert, is known for its high-end shopping and secluded mansions home to various Hollywood celebrities. Enjoy a break for lunch amidst the the fancy retail offerings in this swank location.

Finish your trip at the Desert Hills Premium Outlets, offering 130 high-end brand name stores at bargain prices. Shop until you drop for brands like Gucci, Dolce and Gabbana, Coach, Polo Ralph Lauren, Versace, Prada and Last Call by Nieman Marcus. After scoring a few bargains, hop back on your bus for the ride back to Los Angeles.

Very nice tour!

I enjoy it very much! I would never suspect that in a couple of hours from LA you would be in a cactus-desert! So beautiful landscape! Very nice architecture/atmosphere in Palm Springs. I also enjoyed a lot the outlet mall visit, all the high brands are there (Armani, Burberry, Gucci, etc). Only remark is that the 2 hours given for the shop are not enough. I would give 4 hours, and skip the zoo (that is not even in the program). Local operator very nice, small group visit (we were 2) always appreciated :-)

Chose this tour as we wanted to ride The Aerial Tramway but we weren't told until the morning of the tour that it was closed for it's annual service! Big disappoinment for us. However, we loved Palm Springs, The Living Desert and the Outlet shopping parts of this tour. But would suggest you make sure the Aerial ride is open before you book it.

What a wonderful experience! I was the only person on the tour, and thought it would be cancelled but no, I had a very enjoyable trip all to myself! Jacob was certain to fit in as many sites as possible. The tour included more activities than I expected, it was fantastic value for money!

Very well organised, our tour guide Richard as shown in the picture was very friendly and resourceful, and the driver made all of us feel absolutely safe and enjoyable! They really treated us as their friends, they absolutely went extra miles to do their jobs much better than expected. Mercedes Business Van was used for this trip, which was really comfortable with the authentic leather seat cover. All 6 of us truly appreciated their service.

I thought the tour was a bit disorganised. It went well over time and by the time we got to the top of the Sky Tram it was dark so we couldn't see much. Waisted time stopping at a restaurant is Desert Springs.

This was a great day. The only thing I'd change is maybe to have some time to walk round Palm Springs instead of seeing it mostly from the bus. Richard was a great guide and had a lot of knowledge of the area and the history. The outlets were great, but you'd need a whole day to get to all the shops. A really enjoyable day!

Palm Springs tour was awesome. What...

Palm Springs tour was awesome. What a great experience in the air tram at Mt. San Jacinto. There were only two of us plus tour guide on the tour. Now that was too cool. It was almost like a private tour. The zoo was a lot of fun too. I took the opportunity to feed the giraffe and have pictures taken. Extremely enjoyable. If someone has trouble walking, make certain you take advantage of the tram at the zoo 6. It does not tour the zoo, just takes you to certain stops that will save you a few steps and you can get on and off as much as you like. At beautiful Mt. San Jacinto you can walk a paved trail and it is a bit steep going up and down. On the sky tram at the mountain, passengers stand and if you don't have great balance there are a couple of short benches for someone to sit. It is a little difficult to hold on to the railings because the floor rotates. Overall this was an outstanding tour. and I highly recommend it.
