Departure Time

9:00 AM
Begin with pickup at your Mexico City hotel, then travel to Xochimilco in a private vehicle. Built on the remains of an Aztec city, Xochimilco’s canals and artificial islands are part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and you visit the site by trajinera, a traditional barge with a flat bottom and bright designs.

Continue to the Museo Diego Rivera Anahuacalli, which the artist built for his collection of pre-Hispanic artifacts. Take in exhibits that celebrate almost every indigenous group in Mexico’s history, then climb to the second floor to see Rivera’s own works displayed. Drive to the historic Coyoacán neighborhood to visit the Casa Azul, or Frida Kahlo Museum, where the painter lived, worked, and died. Learn about her life and see important examples of her work, and take time to explore the colonial-era neighborhood on foot.

Make a final stop at the national university to see a series of mosaic murals that tell the story of Mexico in towering, symbolic designs. After visiting the murals, pause to see the Olympic Stadium before returning to your hotel, where this tour concludes.

The project of creation of the University, although without an immediate result, was proposed by Justo Sierra in 1881, being deputy and with the intention of counteracting the educational problem. The purpose of Sierra was materialized in 1910 with the inaugural act of the National University of Mexico, in the amphitheater of the National Preparatory School. We enjoyed our tour, covering Mexican culture and heritage. Our guide and driver were very good. Everything was as expected. Learned quite a bit of culture and about family traditions. Nice to have a private guide during our time in Mexico City.

Veronica!!!!!!! You are the absolute best tour guide we have ever had!!!! This tour is AMAZING!!! I read some of the reviews prior to booking this trip, and I knew I had to get it. The driver and Vero were there 15 minutes before pick up time, they gave us time to get our coffee, brought water for us for the tour, Vero is extremely knowledgeable about Mexican history. Even advise us on what was expensive in Xochi (i.e. Mariachi) and suggested fair prices for various things that are up charged for tourists. Vero and the driver took us and showed us very authentic Mexican places to eat and shop. I cannot recommend this tour enough, plus Vero is the absolute BEST!!!!! We loveeeeeeeeeeeed it! I will be back to do this tour again!!!!

Giovanni and Victor are excellent, knowledgeable and very pleasing guides. We learned a lot about Mexican history and culture in a fun and interesting way. Xochimilco and the Frida museum are not to be missed. Giovanni and Victor gave us the flexibility to manage our time according to our interests. Highly recommended!

Veronica our guide was so vibrant and pleasant her knowledge was amazing and informative. She went out of her way and her timing with our driver Juan was excellent. Our time on the canal tour however was too short and we found The homes of Frida and Juan too long. No matter we slept in this morning!

The tour guide was very knowledgeable and personable. The driver was good as well. Unfortunately, we had to cut this tour short because of some confusion with their office. We missed the Frieda Museum which was the highlight of this tour. You will only get to see the outside of the school library and stadium. The tour on the waterway was nice, nothing special though, and the Diego Museum was nice.

I appreciate your comment, the Museo Casa Azul de Frida Kahlo can only be accessed by appointment and your appointment has a schedule that cannot be changed and at 3:00 p.m. The 7 tickets of your private group were programmed, which by your own choice you no longer used to give priority to another activity or tour that you mentioned had scheduled at that time, we are at your disposal, the Museum unfortunately NO, if you had us Added in the option of special requirements that another tour had, we could probably have scheduled your appointment to the museum earlier, we are also subject to availability and changes without prior notice from the Museum at the time of acquiring the Tickets.

The best art and culture tour

I booked this tour with a small group of friends during our visit from NYC. Our guide Veronica and driver Elio were amazing and the itinerary was perfect for us. After staying in the La Condesa area, this tour was a great way to see landmarks farther from our home base, and we would not have been able to coordinate this day on our own. We had fun hanging out with Veronica all day and she was incredibly knowledgeable about the history and significance of all the sites we visited. All our tickets to the museums were booked for us and Veronica even got us a spot in line for Museo Frida Kahlo while we had lunch. I have visited CDMX several times and visited some of the sites on this tour, but this was definitely the best way to experience them. Our highlight was walking through the flower and plant markets at Xochimilco before getting on a boat in the canal. We were happy to have Veronica with us and will definitely visit another site with her next time we visit.
