Easy way to see Munich

Always like jumping on the Hop On and Off tours in any city we visit. This was no exception. Very clean buses, buses are covered for inclement weather, and good audio for each tour. There are 3 legs (a red which is the old city and probably most popular, blue which gets you around some of the art and museum sections, and the purple which takes you to Nymphburg palace and the Olympia Park/BMW factory). If you're staying near central station and the Old City, this is an easy access tour. Our favorite was actually the purple line, because you got to spend time at the Palace which had several swans and a large public park/walking area, and then subsequently on the same line you can visit the Olympic Tower and site of the Munich Olympic Games (the BMW museum and plant are across the street as well). Overall great tour; worth the value. We took the 2 day option which gives some flexibility if you want to spend time in certain areas. Be mindful the tours start around 10, and depending on the day of the week the frequency by which the buses run may range from every 15 minutes to once an hour. Last buses leave central station at 4 PM, so if you're counting on the bus to get home you have to make sure you're at the stop to be picked up.
Bad experince

We arrived at the office and were checking in with 2 other people. The check in was a bit complicated and we had to get the Viator certificates from a wifi in a shop next door so things were a bit slow. Finally we got the certificates and the agent was putting the data in and we paid trying to hurry up because it was almost time for the bus to leave. We finished and asked which bus to board, the agent said sorry your bus is leaving, we literally watched the bu pull out EMPTY without us. The agent made no attempt to hold the bus for literally an extra minute so the four of us could board. we had to wait another 30 minutes. The ride itself was nerve wracking, the streets were narrow and you found yourself watching the road instead of enjoying the view. The driver was a big hurry and the program was at times about a stop you had already passed! The stops were not that good and generally away from the important sites. There was no stop even close to the German Museum. I would recommend you just uber or get a day pass for the subway it was so much better.
Delayed due to Oktoberfest

It was a nice overview of the city. However, if I hadn't checked the website, I wouldn't have known that the 11 a.m. trip had been moved to 2:30. It was still scheduled to end at 5 p.m.

This was rapid review of central Munich city, with the possibility of getting off at ~4 stops. However, since this was a mid-afternoon start, and since the bus didn’t run after 5pm, getting off really was not much of an option. Their 24-7 ad really isn’t.
Badly run

We booked online & received mobile tickets. When we arrived the stop was difficult to find & then we were told that we had to go into the office & be given paper tickets. Somewhat defeats the point of booking online. We did 2 stops. The audio worked. Limited info but could be heard & understood. Then we got off & went to an art gallery. We got back to the stop in plenty of time for the last bus & sat down very close to the stop. Later than the timetable said the bus arrived -& did not stop. Assumably we were supposed to flag it down. It must have been very late because 5 mins later another bus arrived but still didn't stop. We were not expecting the 2nd bus so not positioned to flag it down. A waste of money. We took a tube back to our hotel.

Don't take this tour

We have taken the 'Hop on Hop off buses in various places So far this was the worst. We normally would ride the whole route and decide where we want to stop. We were told that the ticket was only for one trip which I thought was odd. Could not go back and take the ride again. What a rip off. Don't take this tour.
Not again

The drivers were very rude. One driver tried to push me off the bus because it was 6:00 and time for tour to be over. None of the drivers were helpful about how to get anywhere or where to go. Berlin is beautiful but the people are not.
No hopping!!

Of the 7 stops, the bus only stopped at 3. Narration was hard to understand. Not worth it. You can walked to most everything.
