Returns to original departure point
Begin your day with a tour guide meet and greet at München Hauptbahnhof, the main railway station in Munich. After boarding a train there, ride north to Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site.

Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site Tour:

Arrive at the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site, the first Nazi concentration camp in Germany during the Holocaust, which served as a model for the subsequently constructed camps. See the photographs, documents, reconstructed cell blocks, the crematorium and administration headquarters on a tour of both the camp and museum. Find out little-known facts and stories about the Nazis linked to this site, like Heinrich Himmler, the guard who founded the camp. Then return to Munich via train. You will have a brief break before meeting up for your walking tour.

Munich Third Reich Walking Tour:

After a short break, meet up with your group at a prearranged point in central Munich. During the Munich Third Reich walking tour, learn about the rise and fall of Adolf Hitler and Nazi Germany’s Third Reich while visiting many of that period's important locations.

Stroll around Munich Old Town to witness the historical sites associated with Nazi Germany. See the building where Hitler first joined the Nazi party, discover the former headquarters of the Gestapo, and visit the place where the Beer Hall Putsch, also known as the Munich Putsch, took place in 1923.

Your tour concludes at Königsplatz, near Munich Central Station.

Covers a Lot of ground

I'm very interested in WW II history. So seeing where the Nazi party started was of interest to me. I thought I knew everything. But wanted to see where things took place. I learned some things that I Had incorrect.. We covered a lot of ground. So the guide moved quickly from place to place. So there was little opportunity to take photos along the way. But we had to move fast to get finished on time. It seemed that no one had mobility issues. So it was fine. If you have issues with walking, you may want to check if they have tours to allow for this. I would definitely recommend this for history buffs.

This is an excellent tour combination. We did the city walking tour first, which gave a great overview of WW2 history that made Dachau even more interesting in the afternoon. Our tour guide was informative and spoke clearly but quickly, because he had a lot of information to give. Only downside was the tour size for Dachau was 25, which was a few too many for my liking

Great tour, much history from WW2

Guide was well informed and provide a great deal history from the WW2 period. The only problem was the ability to hear the guide while standing on the streets of Munich during the Third Reich Tour. There was a lot of distracting noise, church bells, emergency vehicles, traffic and people moving carts and other items on the rough cobblestone streets and walkways. I would recommend providing wireless audio to listen to the guide for the downtown Munich part of the tour. Dachau was quiet and there was no problem hearing the guide talking. Be prepared for a lot of walking.

My husband and I went on the walking tour as well as Dachau on the same day, if you plan on doing both on the same day plan on comfortable shoes and clothes. My husband and I loved all the information before going to see all the places our guide too us to because without the facts and details we would just be looking at beautiful architecture. If you just want to go into the museum without the guide please don’t go on a tour. The dachau tour alone takes 3 hours but it’s worth it!

Combo Third Reich & Dachau Tour on Sept 5, 2019

Jeff was amazing tour guide, full of knowledge and details of Hitler's rise to power. The Dachau tour was very moving and sad....(the people who only did the morning 3rd Reich tour were so cheap! Did not even give Jeff gratuities for his hard work! Please remind all the guests to TIP the tour guides, as they work very hard for their wages! I took many photos at Dachau, and one in particular had an "stranger's presence" that showed up! I can submit that for your staff to review if you let me know what email to send it to! Thank you. I advice visitors to take a combo package. The afternoon session is continuation of the morning walking tour. Well worth the money you pay. We were also lucky to have had an excellent guide Geoff.

Incredible tour, well organized well paced with a lot of great in-depth information. Our tour guide Scott was informative, personable and insightful. My only complaint is the waiting area for the tour operator, far from restrooms with no seating.
