Returns to original departure point
Your day trip to Neuschwanstein Castle starts with the train or bus journey from Munich through the German countryside. The entrance fee to the castle is not included (you can pay on the day), but by booking this tour in advance, you receive skip-the-line access to Neuschwanstein so you won’t waste time standing in the ticket queue.

Once inside the enchanting structure, take a tour with a guide, who shares fascinating stories about the reclusive Bavarian king who commissioned a new residence in the 19th century. Thought to be mad, King Ludwig II desired a fantasy castle built in the mountains, an obsessive feat that was still incomplete when he died. Visit the best vantage points for views and photo ops of the castle’s towers, interiors and surrounding scenery such as the lake, gorge and equally beautiful Hohenschwangau Castle.

Your tour ends with the ride back to Munich. Offering great views, the trains are clean, comfortable, and equipped with washrooms. You may walk around to talk with your fellow travelers and your guide, who can answer any questions you may have about Munich and Bavaria.

I was disappointed that...

I was disappointed that we had to take a train to public buses. Basically it was like doing it on your own except you have a leader helping you with the logistics. Stevo did know some information about King Ludwig and about the castle. The tour is only 25 min. long and they race you though the castle. It's a shame. It's a spectacular castle both on the outside and inside. Very impressive. It would be nice to have more time there since it was a 10 hour tour. We missed one of the trains do to logistical problems with the bus that never showed up for us.

Beautiful Castle and Mountains. Our guide Paul was very entertaining

We loved this excursion from start to finish. Our guide Paul was fabulousss. He has a plethora of knowledge and informs you of all the special things to look for that would have been easily overlooked and explains the meaning behind them. What made this trip so memorable is Paul's personality. Very expressive and fun.

The views are stunning

The views are spectacular and Stevo is an excellent guide. Thoroughly enjoyed the tour and Stevo was engaging and informative as well as funny. Highly recommend this tour. The one downside through no fault of our tour guide was the rushed tour within the castle by a tour guide provided by the operators of the castle. That inside tour of the top floor of the castle was a bit of a disappointment and that guide was difficult to understand and offered no time to look at rooms we passed so quickly there was little time to take it all in

Tour explanation
Abdulrahman_A
, Sep 2021
so instead of talking about how majestic Neuschwanstein Castle is let talk about this tour ,This trip is going via a train so be prepare for a long 2 hour ish to Füssen then back , so about 5 hours is basically wasted. trip 9:15am but train start @ around 9:50am so more time wasted. when you get there get ready for a good hike uphill if your not FIT don't bother with this tour!! ,although there is a carriage take you to the top the guide didn't explain that nor give you this option so you gotta hike up! you get about 30min only to eat before the hike. now due this trip is via train you bound to trains delays and such so be warned This trip is great for people who are fit and want a good hike if that applies to you then by all mean book it!

Great experience at Neuschswanstein Castle
Kathryn_S

Stevo was our guide and was fantastic! He gave us so much history about the castle and the characters involved in it. We honestly learned way more from him than from the tour guide inside the castle. The train ride to the castle is very scenic, the town itself is beautiful with the views of the lakes, castle, and Bavarian style village. Stevo took care of all our transportation needs so there was zero stress and we could just enjoy the day. He was funny, had so many interesting stories, and even gave us recommendations for other things to do in Munich (which we did and they were all great, too!) Thanks, Stevo!

We had an awesome day despite the cold rainy August day. Our guide Kevin was very knowledgeable and made the trip fun. We had a great group too which made it even better. I highly recommend this tour.
