Meet your certified New Orleans guide in the heart of the French Quarter and make your way through the historic neighborhood on foot. Your destination is Saint Louis Cemetery No. 1, the final resting place of the city’s revered 'Voodoo Queen,' Marie Laveau.

With historical ties to Voodoo, or Voudou, in New Orleans, your guide shares insider knowledge of this folk religion that mixes African- and Haitian-based magical elements with Catholic rites. En route, stop by the New Orleans Historic Voodoo Museum and browse for potions and protection spells at Marie Laveau’s House of Voodoo.

On arrival at New Orleans’ oldest extant cemetery, discover why the graves are built in above-ground tombs, referred to as ‘Cities of the Dead.’ Hear more about this legendary landmark and its historic preservation.

Even though it was pouring down rain through the entire event, we still had a very good time. Our guide Geoff was extremely personable, knowledgeable, and entertaining. We got to learn so much about how cemeteries in NOLA work and some more rich history about the town in general. Would highly recommend!

Disappointing experience

Totally dissappointed!!! The tour was horrible. First of all it was storming and the tour continued with lightening and thunder around us putting all of our lives at risk. We never went inside the Cementerys just walked outside. Total hoax! Not worth it al all.

The history of the cemetery and the burial process was interesting. No cemetery access. Viewed through locked gates. VooDoo portion was 5 minutes at best.

Geoff was an excellent guide. Greeted us personally and made us feel like old friends out for a walk. He was very knowledgeable and seemed very happy to pass along that knowledge. Unfortunately, due to our age and bad legs, we needed to split off from the tour just before the conclusion. We were very impressed that Geoff took the time to check up on us via text when the tour concluded and actually met up with us later in the day to verbally "finish the tour." We will strongly recommend the tour and Geoff to our friends. The only negative was the fact that the cemeteries were actually closed for visitors so all of our experience was through the gates with limited viewing of the tombs.

Website said we would visit gravesites, however the cemeteries are closed. Did not take the tour and still fighting for refund. Very unethical company.

Mathew was our tour guide. He was pretty awesome and very explanatory. Well worth the tour, but would've been even better if we weren't under the pandemic, due to the restrictions of it, you can NOT enter any graveyard (there is another tour company that tells you that you can, don't believe them)
