Tour ends at the 9/11 Memorial.

This Ground Zero walking tour begins at St Paul's Chapel, aka the Little Chapel That Stood. St Paul’s is the oldest public building in New York City that’s still actively used. This church somehow survived the falling debris from the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center despite being only one block away from the melee. It became a kind of rescue center during the aftermath of the tragedy, and the iron fence that surrounds it became a place for family members to post notices about their missing loved ones.

As the tour continues, walk to the FDNY Memorial Wall and FDNY Ten House. Hear the heroic stories about the emergency responders on that day and see the fire station at Ground Zero.

Finally, enter the National September 11 Memorial, aka the 9/11 Memorial, a tribute of remembrance and honor to the almost 3,000 people who were killed on 9/11 — at the World Trade Center site, in the plane crash near Shanksville, Pa., and at the Pentagon — as well as the six people who were killed in the World Trade Center bombing in February 1993.

There are twin reflecting pools at the very spots where the Twin Towers once stood. Look up and see One World Trade Center’s Freedom Tower.

There is an optional upgrade to include entry into the National September 11 Museum — 110,000 square feet of exhibit space located at the heart of the World Trade Center site. The museum tells the story of 9/11 through multimedia displays, archives, narratives and a collection of artifacts. The lives of every victim of the 2001 and 1993 attacks are commemorated here.
Itinerary
Stop At:
St. Paul's Chapel
We will start the tour at St. Paul's Chapel, New York City’s oldest public building still in continuous use. Just one block away from the 9/11 attacks, it miraculously survived the falling building and debris. St. Paul’s Chapel served as a makeshift rescue center during the aftermath. Its iron fence became a bulletin board where family members posted notices of their missing loved ones. Today, with the mementos received from people around the world supporting New York City, the church serves as both a landmark and a tribute.

Very Disappointing!

Company did not specify the pick up location after using the Apple wallet option. Staff members on site for other World Trade activities tried to help us locate the pick up site but they were unaware as well. The company refuses to acknowledge this issue with providing the pick up location on the actual ticket and has refused a refund for a service not provided. Poor customer service and understanding. Would not recommend to others visiting from out of town.

You did not book a tour with us and you have never reached out to us. You seem to have left this review on the wrong company's page. Our confirmation emails are quite detailed and even include a map of the location as well as multiple ways of getting in touch. We're sorry to hear you encountered a difficult situation with whatever company you actually booked with. Please consider leaving the review with them instead.

Totally enjoyed and gained a great review of our New York tour guides experience. His experience was extremely personal. Overall he was great in providing details we had not heard. Thanks much for the enlighten update to understand how New York dealt with this extra ordinary experience at such a time that was not necessary at all.

Jim the tour guide is from NY and told his personal experience, as well as his families. It made it come to life. The tour started a block from the WTC site and it was interesting to hear about what happened to the people, trees and buildings there. The tour ended by us being led to the entrance to the museum. I didn't understand the web-site wording well enough, so I thought we would get a tour inside the museum too, but that wasn't part of the package. Once inside the museum, there was a desk to buy a museum tour inside, but no one was at the desk to sell it. The main benefit besides the external tour is you can skip the line and get into the museum without a major lineup.

After visiting the memorial before on our own we very much appreciated having the knowledge of the facts and area provided by our tour guide Liz. The weather was somber which matched the weight of the events that created the memorial but with Liz she provided a positive experience for all present. Liz did a great job engaging our group, listening to our stories and questions, and in general ensuring a positive experience.

Our guide Ray brought it all right to home! I teared up several times and was amazed how little I knew. I had put aside so much, for I remember that day but did not experience it as a New Yorker had. I was reminded of all that has changed since then and before. He reached into the young and gave them a clever earful and insightful look at what our lives were then. The loss of so many and the innocence felt around the world!

9/11 Reality

I remember the attack like yesterday. As I was watching a morning show that morning in my college dorm room I the first plane hit rhe tower. And on this trip, my first to NY, to see the aftermath of the attack was a somewhat an emotional experience. To see the rubbish, damage, and also to see the rebuilding after that moment made it seem even more so real. It shows the resiliency of this country and how in the end, as we always do, we can overcome anything. Highly recommend this particular tour.

Bad weather day!

It was raining on and off I had elderly parents and an adult disabled brother so it was hard to keep up with the tour guide. My parents didn't want to get wet anymore so we stayed behind and lost the group and tour guide. We had the museum tickets so we just went outside to see where the 2 towers stood and then inside the museum after it stopped raining. We just did it on our own pace. Btw.. you need a tab that says parents in the bottom when you're asking who were you with.

Tim was a fantastic tour guide. Very knowledgeable about 9/11 and took us to places you wouldn't read about in any guide books. Well worth the price of the tour just for his insight. We had the museum ticket included and this is definitely worth a visit...very emotional exhibition.
