Overview
Just a short drive from Port Stephens, take a 1.5-hour quad bike tour that includes a sand boarding experience and an introduction to local Aboriginal culture. Ride the quad bike and go sand boarding at the Worimi Sand Dunes, the largest coastal sand dunes in the southern hemisphere. From the top the high dunes, take in panoramic views and learn about the traditional occupants of this land on the north coast of New South Wales.

Make your own way to the Murrook Culture Centre for your quad bike tour. The center is located about 25 minutes by car from Port Stephens.
Start with a safety briefing and hands-on instruction for the quad bike. Then put on your helmet and other provided equipment and follow your guide out onto the Worimi Sand Dunes.
Learn about the traditional owners of the land and look for fresh water lagoons and midden sites (tool and burial sites) that can be spotted from high up on the sand dunes. Hear about the hopes of the local Aboriginal people then pass by the noted attractions (as time allows).
Enjoy a hands-on experience at the midden and toolmaking sites that includes digging for fresh water, and finding bush foods and medicines in the area. Top off your time by riding a sandboard down one of the highest sand dunes in the southern hemisphere.

Itinerary
After receiving a hands-on bike familiarisations and a riding safely induction from your experienced guide, set of on your quad bike tour of the
Worimi Sand Dunes, the largest coastal sand dunes in the southern hemisphere.
Stopping atop the high dunes, you'll be provided with a 360’ view of the lands and receive a verbal presentation of the traditional occupation and uses of the land. Fresh water lagoons and midden sites (tool and burial sites) can be spied from this vantage point.
Your tour Includes a hands-on experience at the Midden/Tool making sites, digging for fresh water and bush foods and medicines contained within the area, and sand boarding down one of the highest sand dunes in the southern hemisphere.
