Greet your guide at a central Oslo location and listen to a short safety briefing before climbing onto your state-of-the-art bicycle. Cruise past Oslo’s beautiful National Theatre and the grand parliament building of Karl Johan’s gate, and then weave your way down ancient alleyways to Aker Brygge, an old shipyard that affords visitors wonderful views of the harbor.

Travel onward at a leisurely pace through neoclassical neighborhoods replete with 18th-century houses adorned with vibrantly painted facades. Stop for a refreshing drink at Akershus Castle (own expense), a magnificent Renaissance fortress, and then glide past the Royal Palace to absorb the imperial majesty of the Norwegian royal family’s regal residence.

Capture photographs of iconic venue, Oslo City Hall, the place in which the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony occurs, and then enjoy some leisurely free time to explore the verdant expanse of Frognerparken, an open-air exhibition of bronze and granite sculptures by acclaimed Norwegian sculptor, Gustav Vigeland.

After three hours of exploration, return to your original departure point and bid your guide farewell.

Highly recommend

Highly recommend! We had 2 guides/ one in the front and one in back. Both guided us with humor and depth of knowledge making Oslo come alive and enabling us to see far more than one could on a walking tour.

Thank you Valerie for the nice review. We always make sure that our guests feel safe on tour with a personal touch, which is why we either have two guides (one in the front and one in the back) or break into small groups with one guide each. Making Oslo "come alive" is our passion, and we hope that all of our customers get to see how much we love our jobs :-)

You don’t need a bell to be heard

The first day of our first visit to Oslo and this was a perfect way to orientate and learn more about the city’s history and culture through the eyes of a local guide. Cycling in Oslo is a pleasure almost no traffic, gentle inclines and clean air. The guide gave us some great tips for bars and restaurants too! Highly recommended.

Hi John, Thank you for joining our tour, and for the creative heading to your review :-) We love that Oslo is so quiet: no ringing bells, no honking horns, no blaring sirens. It is great for cyclists and we are happy you shared that info with future customers. It is much appreciated! We hope you enjoyed the rest of your stay in Oslo. Best regards, Curtis

A good bike ride, nice company and I got to know much more about Oslo and Norway. A's a single I had to Pay double price.
icon Response from Host , Apr 2022
Hi Sigrid, Thank you for the nice review but I am not sure what you mean that you had to pay double price. You paid for one person, just like everyone else. You did not pay double price and I want all future customers to know that neither Viator nor Viking Biking charges a customer double price. Price is per person for all customers.

The bikes were ready and waiting for us. We had a super cycle out to the west (we were given three route options to choose from). Curtis is extremely passionate about Norway and very informative. Such a beautiful place, we’ll certainly be back with our kids next time.

Trip through Oslo
Mary_D
, Mar 2022
In my experience there was too little Viking and too much talking on this trip. Too little history about the city
icon Response from Host , Mar 2022
Hi Mary. Sorry the trip did not meet your expectations. I am not exactly sure what you mean by "too little Viking"... it is a 1300 year old culture with no visible signs around the city so while we mention Vikings, the focus cannot be on Vikings given the only artifacts we have from the Vikings are in museums. We try to have a balance of history, culture, urbanism, day-to-day life in Oslo and more. Sorry the balance we provided didn't work for you, but we do appreciate that you joined the tour and hope you enjoyed the rest of your stay in Oslo.
